Waxahachie Golf Club
About
The Waxahachie Golf Club plays to a par 70, 6,156 yards from the tips, and is famous for its blind doglegs and hilly terrain. The design incorporates a good combination of golf holes, both long and short par 4s, and especially the solid par 5s that all play over 500 yards from the tips. The opening hole is one of the easiest–a short par 3 that is one of the better ways to start a round. But the next hole is the number one handicap, a 513-yard par 5.
Getting there : From I-35 south, take the Business 287 exit and turn left. Drive a short distance to the course, and look for the entrance on the left side of the street.

This course would make a good dog park
The only good thing about this course is how honest the staff is about how bad the course is. Green were terrible and they’ve taken an “it’s all rough approach” to fairways. Most people have better manicured lawns than this place. No hitting range if you’re thinking you’ll show up early to warm up. Golf club was in bad shape too all around avoid this place unless you’re a local.
Bad conditions but good value.
Midweek tee time of $11 you can’t go wrong even if the conditions of the course are sub par. Great practice!
Price is in alignment with expectations
The staff was friendly.
the course itself leaves a lot to be desired. The fairways are mostly hard dirt and dead grass.
The greens are uneven and 40% dirt.
It’s a good course to teach a friend golf, but not one I’d recommend for anyone looking for a quality round.
Save your Money
Worst greens I have ever played on in my life. Crab grass central and unkept. Traffic jam where hole 8 meets 18 and caused one group to get lost off course and really slowed play. No one answered my calls when I was calling ahead. No one returned my call.
Worst course I’ve ever played.
Staff was polite and pleasant in person.
Place needs lots of help
The place is not worth playing. Even if it was free the greens are horrible. The place is a mess.
Don’t waste your money!!!!!
Horrible condition
Played this course in the spring and it was in decent condition, but that has changed drastically! The only holes that are decent are the 3 holes that run beside the houses. Several temp greens and more that are in horrible condition.
Needs work
First time playing this course. They had the sprinklers on in the middle of the day, one of the holes had them spraying onto the green while you’re trying to putt. Not a good experience for the price. Around $20/person would be a more fair price.
Zero maintenance
Worst course I’ve played ever. Greene were mostly dirt and mowed weeds. Course hadn’t been mowed and ton of weeds.
Looks like they spend zero $ on maintenance. I played 9 holes and quit. They were happy to take my $33.00 though.
Good for Practice Rounds
Golfnow was offering a hot deal to play this course for 12.99. I would have paid that (or more) for large bucket at a range. Clubhouse manager told me the greens were in bad shape, but I needed a full round of practice and that's just what the course offered.
The worst course I have ever been to
I played this course in April. Back then I thought, how could this course get worse? Well it did. A lot worse. The front 9 had 3 temporary greens. So 3 greens had completely gone to crap in 3 months. In fact, all the other 15 greens are in worse shape than 3 months ago.
I’ve attached pictures of the greens and the fairway. There is more sand and weeds on the greens than actual grass. For the fairways, good luck finding an actual good patch of grass to hit from. The ground is extremely hard.
No cart girls (lol). Speaking of carts, the ones here are gas and have been beat to death. The steering and suspension are super loose and don’t track straight.
There is no range, but there is a very small practice green. Staff is friendly. There was a Marshall out riding around. There was water spraying from two of the sprinklers at 1130, so the nearby tee box was soaked.
Overall I cannot recommend this course. It’s in extremely rough shape. I paid $24 for a hot deal. Even for the price and the closeness to my house, I still can’t recommend this place. It’s a shame though, this course could be really good. It just needs a multi million dollar makeover and employees that actually care about it.
Poorly maintained and managed
This course was not good. The greens where weeds and stand except for 3 of them. Layout is not very good. There are no bunkers on the course. No range or practice greens. No ice chest on the carts and you’re not allowed to bring your own water. There was only 2 water fill up stations and no water in any of the ball cleaners.
Good for practice
This course is good for getting a cheap practice round in. Unfortunately the greens are very poor, and the quality is very sub par. That being said the staff is extremely friendly and makes sure to take care of you. The course could be improved significantly, but it is a great course for grabbing an affordability priced round to get some live swings.
NEVER AGAIN!,
They don’t start mowing greens until u show up to play!! I don’t understand …. All the other courses I have ever played. Had the greens mowed and holes mowed before 7 am! I would love the job of the grounds keeper here! Get payed for 40 hrs and work 25 -30 hrs !! Don’t show up till 930 am. Then start mowing
This place needs new management!!!
Cant eat breakfast cuz no cook till 730 am.
Greens suck.
I use to play 3 + times a week ….NEVER AGAIN
