AVOID like the plague

They need to get the marshals out on the course. My tee-slot was at 2 p.m., and ahead of me were 2 slow 4-balls on 1st and 2nd, a 2-ball, a 4-ball, and 2 3-balls waiting to tee off.

The 3-ball had zero etiquette. The first one teed off, and only then did the next player even get his club out of the bag.

2 pm became 2.45...

Eventually gave up and walked off.

AVOID like the Plague!

They need to get serious about the extreme lack of golf etiquette. My tee slot was at 2 p.m. At that time, were two 4-balls in sight on the course: a 4-ball waiting, a 2x2-ball waiting, and a 3-ball.

Cue teeing off nearly an hour late; after 5 holes I walked off.

Where are the course marshalls???

For £17 we played a round in blistering heat, noone behind or in front. Course layout is interesting, with some really good holes. Short enough to encourage 18 handicappers to shoot low if they keep it straight. Greens not to a high standard but ran true

Disappointing play speed

The playing speed at Priors hall was extremely disappointing, with players infront of us walking off the course and having to wait two hours plus to play two holes, changes must be made here. No warning before play was given by staff about the wait times and our money was wasted completely.

Hugely improved course

Priors Hall has always had a good layout and potential but it’s great to see it in such good condition. The greens are now smooth and fair paced, bunkers still a little firm (it looks like they are being re-sanded over time and the fairways are in good condition. It was great to see the course busy, every tee was booked as you’d expect on a Sunday morning but pace of play was still fair, 4 hours to get round, I look forward to playing here again now.

Don't Judge a Book By It’s Cover

A drive up a leafy road (beware camouflaged speed humps!) lead to a less than impressive looking Clubhouse (looking like a 1960s built local Govt office) A friendly welcome in the Pro Shop and a smile in the bar where we ordered coffee.

First hole from a very elevated tee, had us wondering whether we should have hired a buggy, however, other than 1 and 18 there were only gentle changes in elevation.

Fairways in good condition, greens good and true if a little slow. The only course issue we had was with the bunkers which those who had gone in before us hadn't bothered to rake.

Pace of play ok, until we caught up with the 4 ball in front of us who were grinding to a halt in 30 degree heat. From the 8th onwards we waited on every shot, made worse by their disregard of the bell ringing decorum on a few blind tee shots. Calling us through on the 18th was perhaps the most galling about their inconsiderate behaviour.

A huge construction project butting on the course over 3 holes spoiled the lovely surroundings for a short while.

Good course, well kept, yellow tees are generally friendly, white make it far more of a challenge. Bunkering quite cleverly places on fairway landing areas.

Superb value, recommended.
