A nice friendly course in ok condition for mid April
Played here for the first time and was met by a nice friendly chap running the pro shop. He advised me that the course was just getting cut in and a society had just gone out. I wasn't in a rush and the sun was shining so all good.
The tee boxes were in ok condition. The fairways that hadn't yet been cut in were creating a lost ball scenario despite sending one straight down the middle. 5 minutes looking allowed the society players to progress further (we hoped).
The greens were enjoyable and one could see that in their prime, they'd play fast and tricky.
After a few holes, we caught the society up. No signs of getting called through (we were a 2 ball). 5 hours later we finished our round burnt and battered. This was not the fault of Runcorn GC.
Maybe a sign coming off 6 to indicate where the 7th tee was as we had to be pointed in the right direction by friendly locals.
We didn't have time to pop in the clubhouse afterwards due to the time taken to get around so I can't comment on the beer or staff within.
All in all, it was a good day out and we were grateful to the sunny conditions as 5 hours for a 2 ball in the wind or rain would have taken it's toll.
If I was to play here again then I'd be sure to do it in May as the course would be playing much better by this time.
I'd recommend to others as the £13 it cost was money well spent. I'm not sure I'd pay much more than that though unless it was in absolute pristine condition and there wasn't 22 people in front of me not allowing quicker players through.
Disappointed
Back nine fairways uncut for weeks like playing in the rough from tee to green. Hit a good shot down the middle ball lost in deep gtass
Absolutely awful
This course was one of the worst courses I have ever played the course was completely waterlogged and in most places unplayable standing water everywhere. The course was poorly maintained and not sure if this was a municipal or not but most municipal were better. It didn’t help I got stuck behind a 5 or 6 or 7 ball depending on which hole they played which was frustrating and play was just rediculosly slow. Will never touch here again
Very wet
Played this course on Friday and my opinion is this course is to wet to play on.
The fairways had not been cut and looked more like semi rought.
Will not be returning to this course in winter months.
Great day's golf
First time my wife and I have played Runcorn GC. The course is well layed out with easy to follow signposts. The greens are in very good condition too. The course is a challenge for any golfer. I would recommend Runcorn GC to any non-member.
Impressive Parkland Course
Recently played this course and was left very impressed. The condition of the course was great. The back 9 is a challenge to any level of golfer especially the 17th hole which would fit in on any of the top courses in the UK. On arrival the guys in the Pro were shop very welcoming and really helpful.
I would recommend you give this course a go you will not be disappointed. Look forward to returning. Well done to everyone involved at Runcorn Golf Club.
Runcorn GC
cheap & cheerful basic course but best to play when the ground's softer, as most greens were impossible to hold on the fly.
ideal location for a round on our way to the Open at Birkdale & very friendly local people there.

Average
Average course, first 8 holes are very similar and therefore slightly boring. Be careful when booking on teetimes app as price said £12.50 each for 2 people and then we got charged £15! Other than that greens well kept and ok course if you an average player.
Excellent course
Wonderful course, excellent condition and a fair but testing challenge. Front and back nine similar with tree lined tight fairways but back nine more undulating and testing. Friendly staff and members. Would definitely recommend - a little gem.
Hidden gem
Played this course of few times now and each time I've been equally impressed. A nice challenging course for all golfers. Well worth a visit.
perfect local course
nice course nice staff, perfect greens, just perfect.
Challenging Course
I have played on this course with my regular golfing friends on many times over the past few years and enjoyed every time I played there except on one occasion in July 2014 I full filled my lifelong ambition of getting HOLE_IN_ONE on the 5th hole Par 3. I will never ever forget that day as long as I live. For this reason alone this course is very special to me. If any visiting golfer who play to his/her handicap on this course, should consider them to be a good golfer. It is not an easy course to play and come up with low score for the round. I rate this course as very challenging and significant difficulties on certain holes.
The course was in good condition
Great value for money, I would always recommend this course.
The wind made it a little more challenging on the day!
Great facilities, very friendly club and will be playing here again soon.
Excellent
Course in really good condition for this time of year. Greens and tees all in good condition. Can't wait to get back on there in the summer.
Good condition
Course well kept and in excellent condition despite heavy rain recently.
Friendly bar
Good value snacks.
My wife and I enjoyed our day.
