About
The scenic ranchlands west of Fort Worth are full of rugged canyons, native wildflowers, and impressive elevation changes, all of which are incorporated into Canyon West’s design. Located atop Parker County’s highest summit, this 1997 18-holer incorporates all of those North Texas Hill Country features and more into its design. Waterfalls, miles of streams, exposed rocks, prairie grasses, wildflowers, and loads of oak, pecan, elm, and mesquite trees highlight the landscape.
Elevated tees offer views of the countryside. In addition to the scenery, golfers are welcomed by generous fairways that make this a fairly user-friendly course, especially given its reasonable yardage of 6,653 from the tips and the fact that water comes into play on only about half of the holes.
Other notes: During the week, the course offers seniors a two-for-one green fee. Walking is not allowed.
Getting there : From Ft. Worth, go west on I-20 and take exit 403. Cross left over the freeway and then make a quick right onto the service road. The entrance is 2.5 miles down the road.

Always a great place to play!
This is the fifth time I have played Hideout! It has improved every year over the past five years! Beautiful facilities, friendly staff and great food from the grill! Challenging golf course in a beautiful setting! Never crowded and always a very satisfying experience!
In desperate need of repair!!!!
I have played Canyon west mini mini times. It is normally one of my favorite courses. Today we played and I was very very disappointed in many of the fairways except for the last four holes. If they don’t get something going pretty soon this place could go downhill very quickly. I hope that they get it together and get it back to the shape that it once was. I was eating lunch and playing golf with some other people today. They all commented on how bad it looked!! We’ve had lots of rain here in Texas, I just really think that the greens need to be punched. Not sure if it’s a money, or a staffing issue. Please folks of canyon west get this place back to where it was. For $65 on the weekend, there are many many places near me that are in much much better shape!
Just fun
A gem of a golf course set in a beautiful community of homes. The course is challenging and fun to play. Cart only on a few fairways, but I understand they need to get the grass growing in some areas. Greens were well manicured and beautiful.
Great Layout. Needs Work
Great layout with great views. Tee boxes and many fairways are bare. They need to invest in water, resodding tee boxes, and fixing fairways. Charge more and invest those dollars into improving course quality.
Going downhill fast
Once great course is going downhill fast. Giant dead patches on 3, 4, 5 and many other fairways. Put some darn sod down or try something! Been this way far too long now. Pin position rarely gets changed. Time for new ownership I would guess.
Course & grill are crap
Slow pace of play, dead patches of grass everywhere & the food & staff in the grill suck. The burgers are made from frozen patties that weren’t even hot and the girls had a bad attitude about it.
Go somewhere else...
Played 3 of 18 holes and left to go to a more friendly course.
The golf pro approached us at at the 3rd hole and told us that "the chronic bitcher had called and complained" because we weren't playing fast enough.
$120 down the drain and we'll never go back.
I love this course
The staff is always friendly, even the owner comes by to say hello and ask if you are having fun. I would play here every week if I could.
