About
The scenic ranchlands west of Fort Worth are full of rugged canyons, native wildflowers, and impressive elevation changes, all of which are incorporated into Canyon West’s design. Located atop Parker County’s highest summit, this 1997 18-holer incorporates all of those North Texas Hill Country features and more into its design. Waterfalls, miles of streams, exposed rocks, prairie grasses, wildflowers, and loads of oak, pecan, elm, and mesquite trees highlight the landscape.
Elevated tees offer views of the countryside. In addition to the scenery, golfers are welcomed by generous fairways that make this a fairly user-friendly course, especially given its reasonable yardage of 6,653 from the tips and the fact that water comes into play on only about half of the holes.
Other notes: During the week, the course offers seniors a two-for-one green fee. Walking is not allowed.
Getting there : From Ft. Worth, go west on I-20 and take exit 403. Cross left over the freeway and then make a quick right onto the service road. The entrance is 2.5 miles down the road.

I love this course
The staff is always friendly, even the owner comes by to say hello and ask if you are having fun. I would play here every week if I could.

Even in the winter this course is in excellent condition. Very challenging. The views are incredible. We love playing Canyon West
Really fair golf course
My brother and I have been playing there for years. It’s a really forgiving course with how open it is. But also what makes it fun, the wind is usually blowing and it seems to be from a different direction every time. You have to play each hole different every time you go. Keeps it changing and keeps it fun
Very windy day but still enjoyable!
Quite possibly the best I’ve seen the course play in many years of playing it. Greens finally have some speed to them, praying that lasts through spring/summer!
Nice layout, slow play.
Pace of play was excruciating, gave up after waiting over 20 minutes on #10 with three groups on the hole. Even trying to skip holes, no luck, every hole same way. This was on a Monday! What is this course like on a weekend?
No grass in fairways, bunkers are pitiful, but their greens were really good. Will not be back for awhile.
Disappointed
We 0layed with a party of three and although we are in the middle of the worst covid19 pandemic to date canyon west still paired us with a person we did not know. I truly think that is a bit greedy that the course would clearly place profits over player safety. We will find play elsewhere until the pandemic is over.

Great course, very happy and helpful staff in the pro shop and the snack bar! Great carts, course is in great condition for the time of year. Great round.
Crazy windy when we played
We had been warned that it could be a little windy, but it was much more windy than anticipated. The forecast showed 10+ mph winds, but it was easily 20+ all day. The course was in nice shape, greens were in great shape. Overall the course was not very challenging. It is scenic and definitely worth playing, but I wouldn't be inspired to play this course regularly.
Great course!
This is, by far, the best public course in this area! You'll have battle the hard-pan fairways this time of year and that happens at any course in the cold months. Everyone is friendly and the course is challenging and it is very affordable, especially if you book your round on the GolfNow app.
