Lots of water in dificult places
A really well kept course but really quite challenging if your approach game is not great. Good tees and greens and layout sensible although there are some long treks between holes (we had a buggy but even so).
Our onlycomplaint was the groundsman kept appearing on the hole we were playing. This happened on several (6/7) consecutive holes including working on the green we were approaching and approaching close on the fairway. We eventually felt we had to have a word. We fully understand work needs to be done BUT spread it around between groups! If they had started at 9 (for example) and gone backwards we only would have seen them at one hole not seven! When challenged we were told not to worry as they were about to knock off for lunch - the damage had already been done by then unfortunatly.
Other than that a lovely day with the dry conditions giving lots of roll on low tee shots:)
Great course
Great course , greens where I’m great condition considering the long spell off hot weather we have had. Fairways were very dry but to be expected as all courses are the same at the moment.
Will definitely be returning
Lovely voyrse
Really enjoyed playing here, great VFM. Testing course, lots of long Par 4’s, lots of bunkers and plenty of jeopardy playing over water. Like all courses atm the Fairways are hard and dry but otherwise a lovely well maintained course.
Good course
Played today at 1104.
I was a bit concerned about previous reviews saying the green were poor.
Today they were good to very good the odd bare patch and a little disease here and there.
Given recent weather conditions the greens are outstanding.
The fairways are baked hard, where isn't, but still playable.
Just allow for a lot of roll.
The greens will take a well hit wedge shot with spin.
Bunkers have plenty of sand and very few stones.
All together well worth the green fee.
Beautiful course
Although i came shortly after heavy rain the course was in great condition. Friendly members playing and the pace of play was good.
Course was okay
Staff were great, and facilities were excellent. The layout of the holes were really good with some excellent views. However, the condition of the course weren’t the best. The fairways were scattered with big divets, rabbit holes and hardly any grass (comparing other course this seemed typically worse from the heat killing the grass for some reason). The greens and tee box were good though. The slow play really done me in and was painstaking at times. Overall for the price not bad at all, if nearby definitely would recommend to locals or new to golf.
Friendly hotel golf venue that needs a clubhouse
Used to be a member here many years ago and always liked the course. Certainly is in good order these days but the other facilities are not as neat and tidy.
There used to be a bar that looked across the 18th, 1st and 9th hole. Good place to eat and have a drink before and after a round. Maybe time for it to come back ?
Still an enjoyable day.
Need to increase gaps between groups
Played here a few times in past couple of months. Good course layout with pantry of variation to keep golfers of all abilities on their toes. However the pace of play is often incredibly slow. Yesterday a group of 5 were playing slow and holding up play which then caused a bit of a jam round the turn. Walked off on the 10th as too frustrating to wait at every hole to tee off. I’ll still be back but maybe time to move tee off to 10 min gaps or have a course Marshall keeping eye on slow play.
Ufford golf course
A great course but a strange lay out, the greens were quite poor and very pitted.
Terrible greens
Greens are unplayable, fairways and tees in good condition.
Fantastic variety of holes to challenge all golferes
Great variety of holes, with plenty of water, and up and downhill holes to challenge all levels of golfer. The greens I’m sure will improve as summer arrives but at moment seems that much damage has been done over winter due to golfers not repairing pitch marks.
Worst Greens Ever Played on
The greens are so Bad they shouldn't charge for the course.
You can't play proper golf you can't play out on the greens.
Senior management just don't care.
I have friends there now and they are just as bad.
Warnings should be given before you pay your money.
Don't waste your Money
Fantastic course, needs a little TLC
It was my first time playing here and it is a very pretty course with an absolutely fantastic layout which was never boring, it was just a huge shame that the greens weren't in great condition with lots of dead patches making them very unpredictable. I'd definitely come and play here again but I'll give it some time and hope the greens are in better nick when I do return.
Nice open course layout with a few testing holes
Good course for all levels of handicap. Fairways holding up well despite recent rains but greens a little bare and very slow. Some of the pin positions on the crests of hills seemed a little cruel also. All in all we really enjoyed the morning and will be back.
