Firstly. Club pro very friendly and helpful, also course conditions very good and well looked after.

However, course layout just not enjoyable, everybody playing over one another and people getting backed up. I think at one point here are 4 greens and 5 tee boxes within 100 yard of each other

A warm welcome, strict dress code, course in great condition and a nice drink to finish. Layout well marked with the pro ensuring no issues from 11 to 12. Accuracy the main here so take plenty of irons, greens quite quick too and all in good shape. Will be back.

Great course play off 19 so not sure how testing for low handicappers but found it in great condition fairways greens and bunkers.

Well looked after and a credit to the staff.

Great little course in excellent condition. Best greens I’ve putted on this year. Course tidy. Tree lines but rough cut short so finding the ball easy but trees cause the challenge .

Three ball round in 2h 45 on a Sunday.

Will definitely be back. Highly recommended. Although the highest handicap in my group was 2, mid and high handicap players would enjoy Widnes and get round.

Some holes cross over but this is the nature of fitting 18 holes into a small piece of land.

Get yourself over there - played here a few times since 1990 and this is the best I’ve seen it.

Poor layout and not the best kept course. Fairways okay but everything else needs work. Not worth £25 a round in any way possible. Will not be returning.

Nice mature course with plenty of trees. Quite open with few out of bounds between fairways and not too challenging. A good afternoon of golf.

This was a really hard course because of a very narrow fairway and lots of trees and out of bounds. I scored my highest score here! Still was great fun and would definitely play there again!

Appreciate it was April but the course very heavy and boggy with the ball plugging everywhere. Tees and greens really poor with us often moving the ball a foot or so to avoid a particular bad patch of green. The 17th making us laugh if nothing else, some form of sunken sprinkler head surrounded by a patch of rough smack bang in the middle of the green again causing us to move the ball for a free run at the hole.

The pro in the shop was welcoming and offered advice about getting around the tricky short walks between the holes

Plenty of greens staff seen on the course so maybe it will improve.

this course will test your ability to keep the straight and on the fairway as you do not have much room to allow for slice or hooking the ball great course

What a waste of money! Greens are absolutely shocking! Worse than any municipal I have played!

I would never play here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

There is something seriously wrong at this club as others in the local area are far superior. I know the club may be moving, but the condition has seriously nose dived in recent months!

Disgrace!
