Cracking course
Ample parking, checked in and the two ladies in the pro shop very friendly and explained the course layout as never played here before. Fairways in the main forgiving and wide, bunkers a plenty and punishing once your in them, all had rakes, nice to see the ball cleaners were filled with fresh water. Greens very good and run true. Layout was excellent and loads of elevated tees and great views. If you go in the ruff you most definitely will lose your ball 😂
Overall loved my time here and will definitely return. Excellent value. Didn’t use the facilities as just played and when.
Fun course
Fun course for a great price. Greens were hard when we played but due to a lot of dry weather. Great bar for food and drink on site with a lovely outdoor area in the sun
Could be so much better
New holes still lacking good turf on fairways which make it hard to get underneath your ball. Greens were in good condition and ran true. Parking as ever was shocking and no real club house just an open to the public bar/resteraunt. Shame because it it is almost there as a a great course.
A good course - challenging holes, well kept, good value for money.
A good course. Greens are varied - with varying slopes and cambers. Woods and rough off the fairways. Greens in good condition, well kept. Good value for money.
good course
Played a few times here, course condition was great and pace of play was good too
Course in good condition. Great value for money
Really glad they have return the layout to how it played previously. Really prefer playing it this way around. Course in good condition, greens rolled true.
Need to keep the ball straight of the tee as if it runs into the thick stuff it is very difficult to find.
Clubhouse is a great set up and was nice to have a couple of points on the terrace after a decent knock!
Good course -will be back
The weather beat us in the end but played 12 holes!
Tricky course with plenty of deep bunkers which were difficult to get out of them!
Course played well with the rain slowing the greens down.
Overall really good course and will be back in the coming weeks. There was an offer on at the course for 2 plus buggy for £70.
Went into the restaurant for a drink and food looked great!
Lovely course
Different layout to prior round but still works well. Greens had been sanded and fertilized recently so they played slower, overall good course and friendly staff in the shop.
6 hour game
Course is in great condition but it took Us 6 hours to get 18 holes in the pace of play was unbearable would not play here again because of that
Sherdley park 28.5.25
The course is great for all abilities, staff are really helpful and friendly too.
After a good game there is a cracking bar and restaurant next to the last hole.
Can’t wait to book again.
Needs work
Not a bad looking course but rock hard, stone filled fairways that ruined one of my irons, greens were either full of holes or weeds, sometimes both, needs a lot of work but has the potential to be decent.
Getting better everytime
Played the course over the years and since bought out the course is getting better and better each time I play it. Still work to be done regarding bunkers and greens but I'm sure they will get there.
Could be a great course
Greens shocking
Fairways average
Club shop A1
Club house A1
Not even close to being worth £37.50 per round. £25 at the very most.
Nice course
Played here few times now few over the winter and now in golf season it is a nice little course lay out is good not a very long course only 1 par 5 but you have to be accurate of the tee especially when it's windy like today 14/4/25 all in all great little course for a cheap knock
Best the course has been
Now the clubhouse & restaurant/bar are open it is so much better looking off the course than the old council ran course reception was.
The greens are better than they've been in years and the layout helps getting Mount St Helen's out of the way first as that walk up the hill used to kill you for that hole mid round.
Very poor greens
The greens are the only thing that lets this course down,
I hope they have plans to sort them out as they are unplayable.
The course closes at 20:00, although this app lets you book 18holes right into 19:00.
Potential
The first thing I think I should mention in this review is that this course, clubhouse and surrounding area is undergoing a lot of work. The layout of the course has changed, now you start on what use to be the 13th and complete the six holes up the hill. You then come down and play what use to be the 11th and 12th, then back up to the first to finish the round. For me this seemed to be unnecessary because there was nothing wrong with the old lay out. So onto the course itself, in particular the greens, or should I say the sand flats. Several holes consisted of sand and the smallest amount of grass I think I have ever seen on a green. After marking my ball and replacing it I was constantly putting out of a small divot made by replacing my ball, as if it had landed plug in a bunker, obviously not to that extreme but you get my point. Several trees have been removed from the course and some undergrowth had been removed, which made the course look more appealing. It is clear that the management want to improve the course but I do question if these improvements have been thoroughly thought out or they are made purely for the sake of saying they have done something. Finally on to the club house which I accept is still being constructed/altered, but nether the less consists of a desk with a man stood behind a vendor and a toilet. So for me this course needs another 18 months to get established, and paying £18 to play a pretty unkempt course is not justifiable.
