Solid course
Solid course, with a good mix of holes. Wish they had better food options.
good course,good value.
I was caught off guard checking in when the attendant said they did not have an agreement with Tee Off or Golf Now and they could not guarantee me a cart. He said they didn't make any money on these deals.
Windy day, unpleasant surprise from staff.
I like playing at the Crossings even though it is a good distance to drive. I encountered a surprise at check in. When I gave the attendant my Tee Off reservation print out, he said they didn't have an agreement with Tee Off or Golf Now and they couldn't guarantee me a cart and I may have to walk.
Grounds crew inconsiderate
Trying to play and mower will not stop-mowing the tee boxes to allow you to hit
Great gem
Set a little off the beaten path, The Crossings provides a great venue. Nice layout and scenery. Not short, not long. Great test for all skill levels.
Rudest clubhouse staff ever encountered!
Showed up to play and immediately told our threesome would be joined with another player. That’s understandable. But we were told this other player would be in one of our carts. That’s also understandable if your state doesn’t lead the nation in new COVID-19 cases. When we said we really needed another cart we were told to “get out.” We never raised our voices, but the attendant at the desk sure did. We left and won’t be back. In reading other reviews, I see that others have experienced this same sort of insensitivity to the COVID-19 situation. Other courses in our area are requiring everyone to take a separate cart, even if they live in the same household. So long to Crossings!
Most hateful staff ever encountered!
I arrived at the course on 12/23 to play this round of golf with my brother-in-law and son-in-law. When I checked in I was informed that the other hot deal tee time had been sold and that we would be paired with an additional player. That was understandable. But then the course attendant told us that he didn’t have any carts and that the fourth would have to ride with one of us. Then he said we should’ve booked directly with the course and that it would’ve been different. Really? If we book directly with the course then everyone gets the needed carts, but if we use Golfnow the course rules change? With the situation with Covid 19 I told the attendant that we really needed a third cart. I am also having surgery for stage four colon cancer in the next few days and I told him that I could not take the risk of one of my immediate family or myself being exposed to illness from a complete stranger. He told me we’d have to do what he suggested or I could contact Golfnow and get my money back. I told him I’d step outside and see what my relatives wished to do. After speaking with them, my brother-in-law said he’d speak with the attendant. I remained outside. When my brother-in-law returned he told me the attendant wasn’t sympathetic at all and told us to “get out.” We left. I’ve now learned that Golfnow policies don’t reimburse green fees unless the course is closed at the time of the tee time. So, we were told multiple lies by the course attendant. First, the carts were available or he couldn’t have said they’d be available if we had booked directly through the clubhouse. Secondly, he told us we could get our $ back. He has no clue what he’s talking about. My advice: spend your money elsewhere. Crossings used to be private. I think they opened to the public so they could pay the bills. They really don’t want us there. I’m sure they’re thrilled that the got three green fees from us carte blanche. But now they can look elsewhere. I’ll not be paying anymore of their bills.
The Crossings
I always enjoy this course because it has an interesting and challenging layout. Beware of the rough as it swallows up golf balls never to be found. The only negative is that golfers who purchase their tee time at a discount through Tee Off are treated, in my opinion, as second class citizens. The last 3 times playing there I was informed upon arrival that I was not guaranteed a cart and they insisted that I must ride with a stranger, not following COVID-19 protocols. The person at the desk was unsympathetic and said we should read the fine print stated by Tee Off when booking. This is the only course that I haves played in the Johnson City area that is I’ll equipped for safe play during the pandemic.
Keep it in the fairway
Don’t expect much this time of year, but have played here many times and my only criticism is that the rough is always high and you will lose your ball 60% of the time you leave the fairway. The layout is great and is pleasing to play
Great Day for 4
Good day with friends, greens great for late Nov and course in very good overall condition.
Nice links layout, a little confusing
First time playing here and I loved the links style layout! I'm a bit visually impaired and I found a couple holes to be a little confusing as to where to play. One of the grounds crew provided much needed guidance on the back nine, thanks.
The course conditions were a little rough but that's to be expected this time of year. The fairways are hard and firm so we got a lot of roll. Most lies were good if you kept it in the fairways. Make sure you have some kind of GPS or a range finder to help speed up play.
The greens rolled slow because they weren't cut and they were still recovering from aerification. Maybe 2 more weeks to recover? The worst green on the course is #15. It's in such bad shape that any pin placement will be within 5-6' of dead spots. It's borderline unplayable in my opinion...
Also, the course is very exposed, wide open, and doesn't have many forced carries. The wind picked up on the back nine and became what I call a "3 club wind". The 18th was dead into the wind and proved to be tough. I hate ending a round with a bogey!
My buddy and I are going back to play again soon but I can hardly wait to play it in peak season cause it has the potential to be an awesome experience. It's definitely a course that you need to play at least once!
Good value for the price
The course is usually in good condition but sometimes the rough is pretty deep. I like the course even though it has some challenging holes.
Pretty and green
Beautiful setting fall colors with north Carlo is mountains in background. The course is in good shape A bargain We played on a Friday afternoon with only one other golfer in sight
