My playing partner. 80 years old and still nailing his drives! Photo submitted by JettSpot on 07/11/2017
Always Fun
Corse almost back to perfect. Greens still need a couple of weeks. Fairways are almost dry with lots of extra run. Hugo the caddie the best as always.
Covid Golf
Playing the course for the first time since lockdown. Everyone was very friendly and happy to see you back playing. All Covid precautions in place. Caddie’s riding on the back of the cart and not touching your clubs. Still very useful having them there. Course was in great shape although the greens were a little slower than normal. The range is open and all range balls are disinfected before yo use them. Glad to be back.
Hidden Cost Ripoff
The course itself was in decent shape with good variety and several water/bunker challenges. Club rental was $60 US (outrageous) and the women’s clubs were far inferior to the men’s rentals. I discovered on the 2nd hole that the grip on my driver was very loose... with the heat it would twist 180 degrees in my hands. I was forced to use my husband’s driver for the rest of the round... longer club than I’d like. Complaints to staff at the pro shop fell on deaf ears with claims that there were no managers left on duty and no compensation could be made. On top of that, we were surprised with a $500 peso charge for the caddie we were forced to use and who did not add much value to the round. All in all a poor experience.
Bring your clubs to Puerta Villarta
Allow yourself an extra half hour before your tee time, the complex is massive. We played in three hours, the course was in great shape, Daniel was a wonderful fore caddie. I would highly recommend him. This is probably Puerto Vallarta’s premier golf facility. The greens are fast, and the fairways wide open. It was very challenging even from the gold tees.
Disappointed in Golf Now service
By mistake I booked a round at the Greg Norman course today in stead of Thursday of this week. I had Thursday picked and was going thru the different courses but wanted to go back to Greg Mormam course on website so I did and proceeded to book a round that I thought was Thursday. However after confirmation came back to me it said the round was for today. I couldn’t fold today because I was on the plane coming to PV. I tried to modify the date on the website but that wasn’t allowed and I called the 800 number for golf. Now and the response was sorry we don’t help over the phone go to the website. That is horrible service and cost me $212 USD tot day for an honest mistake which couldn’t be revised because no one would answer my call!
Nice very forgiving track
Not very long from the whites. I suggest outing the blue tees if you hit it over 230 off the tee. Fairways very short. So if you have trouble hitting off tight lies it will be a battle. Over all great day and great service
Nice greens
Ground was a little wet in spots, made it tough to chip from e wet spots. But generally in good shape
Our caddie Florencio was great
Norman versus Nayar
Would rather play the Nayar course, sister course at Vidanta. Nothing spectacular about this course. Not worth the extra cost.
Such a great place
Excellent course, wind and water all over the place making it hard but fun
Vidanta—Norman
Fun day but a little slow. Didn’t see Carr girl until 9th hole. We were spitting dust..
Great course, I play here often.
I play here all the time. Great course, friendly staff.
GolfNow needs to get honest about pricing. Backing out the tax charged on a round of golf and then advertising that price as a discount is simply dishonest. Golfers end up paying full price at checkout.
The course is beautiful.
The layout is fair but challenging.
It was raining and very wet but still enjoyed ourselves. Staff was great and our caddy Francisco was excellent.
We will be back!
Better Courses in the Area for less money
The whole Vidanta resort layout is not conducive to the non resort golfer. To get from the taxi to the first tee at the Norman course is really a trial; exit to a central way station, take a shuttle cart to the pro shop, get assigned your Mandatory caddie, get in a cart and drive 15-20 minutes, hopefully without getting lost through a maze of endless pathways, over a huge suspension bridge to the first tee! Yow, The course is just okay in its layout, many of the holes look the same and are flat and not very memorable! Conditions are good. We paid $125 after noon plus caddie fee ($20) - who was better than okay, not wonderful, wonderful. There are better courses in the area for less money!
Didn’t meet expectations
If you are a low handicap avid golfer used to great greens, good customer service and a great golf experience this is not the place to play. Arrival to resort - you have to go through a security checkpoint as an outside visitor to the private resort and are given a wrist bNd identifying you as an outside visitor. Cab drops you off at a greeting centre Nobody talks to you and you wonder where you are. we finally asked and where told we’d have to wait for a shuttle to take is to pro shop. We arrived 1.5 hours prior to our tee time and waited over 30 minutes for a shuttle. Shuttle takes about 15 min to get to pro shop. Very poor communication from the staff at the greeting centre with regards to the shuttle. We arrive at pro shop and nobody says hello or directs us to check in. Again we stand around and wait.
Cart and Play - the carts are old and dirty. They don’t provide water but do fill up cooler with ice. You have to take a caddy - 800 pesos for 2 players. We had a good caddy. No time to warm up because checkin took so long. Drive to first tee is another 15 minutes. Pace of play was slow we were a 2 some and we waited on every hole. The greens were shaggy and almost felt like they had been punched. They were very slow. Course is basic nothing spectacular.
At end of round you travel 15 minutes to return to pro shop. Again no communication from staff. We had to ask about shuttle to take us back to where we could catch a cab
From the marina in Puerto Vallarta to the courses costs between 180-200 pesos.
They clearly don’t understand the concept of good customer service. Perhaps that’s because we weren’t members of the Vidante Resort. This experience gets a 2.5 and we won’t be back.
