Typical Nicklaus course.
Challenging approach shots, position necessary from any tee box. Forward tees great but still a challenge for high handicappers. Course currently in dormant condition but still excellent. Excellent fairway cushion that allows great spin in your ball. Greens are true and smooth but are a challenge to read which is typical for a Nicklaus course. Can’t go wrong with this place.
9Hole course
Beautiful course.
Never disappoints.
Only flaw is the restaurant is a hit or miss.
Had some awesome food at times and some so so at times. Would like to see more consistency from restaurant.
But golf is top notch.

Challenging course
Excellent course, challenging
For a 9 hole course playing it twice is a blast. Water on most every hole, over water a few holes. Good length and definitely in the best condition around. Great staff. I can’t wait for them to do the other 9, but it’s not like playing a 9 hole course. It’s the real deal.
Great course, fun was had by all
We had a blast out there. There are three golf courses in Puerto Penasco and this is my favorite. Vidante is also excellent but a 40 minute drive from our condo.
Beautiful Course, Great Staff, Fun Fun Fun!
Islas del Mar is our favorite course in Puerto Penasco. It is only 9 holes but you can play it twice for 18. They have a set of yellow tees that are longer on some holes and shorter on some holes than white tees if you don’t want to play the same tees. The setting is beautiful, played around lagoons, near the ocean. The staff does a great job of maintaining conditions. The other contender for “best” in Penasco is Vidante, which is just as good from a quality and condition perspective. We just like the style of hole layouts at Islas, plus it is much closer to Sandy Beach resorts. Both are great.
Beautiful Course
I love this course. Only wish it was 18 holes. The staff there are awesome. Course is in beautuful shape. Can't wait to play it again.
Great course
For the money this course is a great way to spend the day, to bad it’s only 9 holes.
Plush fairways with fast greens.
The course was in great shape and easy to get to.
Price was competitive. A lot of water but wide fairways and greens that hold with a high shot.
ONLY one issue. PLEASE, PLEASE do not Armour All the seats, steering wheel and floor boards. Everything we touched was greasy and made our golf gloves also greasy. Also getting into the cart was dangerous because our feet slipped.
