The Links at Las Palomas Resort Golf Club

Carts are old and poorly maintained. Earlier in the year there were two occasions when the cart died around the 14th hole. Last round here the brakes worked but didn't lock (fun on a course with as many hills as this one). Yesterday the brakes were inadequate and while they locked, they were reluctant to release.

Should also not that when you book here through golf now, they charge you an extra $5US "tax" per golfer when you sign in. It means that it costs you more than the "twilight" rate on some bookings.

We had a group of 8 players and everybody enjoyed the course. Only complaint was that the 19th hole was closed too early. We finished our rounds by 3pm and would have enjoyed some cool adult refreshments but the bar was already shut down. Other than that no complaints..

Cart I had had poor brakes which wouldn't set. Found a chunk of wood to carry with me to hold the cart. Lots of hills on the course. Otherwise great value. Not first event with the carts which are old and poorly maintained.

The course is in good shape the greens could be a little shorter and quicker . The one thing I really despise about this pro shop is they collect a $5 or 100 peso tax they call it . No other golf course in Penasco collects this fee its unnecessary and is a form of gouging that they cant even explain when you play . If you dont pay the cash tax fee they won't let you play? They need to take this fee away it looks corrupt. The 2 guys that look after your golf cart and clean your clubs after the round are great guys .

The weather was perfect, the pace was excellent, the greens are excellent, tee boxes are good, fairways are OK (better than reports from two years ago for sure, definitely playable). The staff were friendly and professional. I was a little put off by being charged extra a the counter after prepaying via Golf Now. That doesn't happen at another nearby course. Overall a great day though.

The greens need cutting they are bumpy and slow go play the myan or Isles the greens are good speed

Course was in decent condition. I watched this course being built and now playing it again some 15 years later I was very disappointed. The carts were trashed. Nothing worked on them. Some of the steps and cart paths around the course are broken . Listing times etc. the ball washers if there is one are rusted broken and missing. Basically the course is very run down And in horrible condition. Yet they charge full price It’s a premium course right in The heart of town Yet not maintained. Very sad

Las Palomas is a good test of golf from the blue tees. The course is drying up and you can get a little more roll on the fairway but some are still spotty (18 is terrible) but the greens are good to very good with consistent speed and firmness.

As for the staff … in the clubhouse you have to pay the Mexican tax ($5/player) even though the booking has 0 due at course. Sometimes the range is not open cause nobody picked up the balls and getting your cart to start your round is slow. Given these short comings we play Isla Del Mar and Vidanta even though we reside in Las Palomas Golf Resort.

They have started to do more cutting of rough areas compared to our previous game. We were fortunate to get a golf cart that was in good condition compared to all of the other times we played there. The smell from sewage pond off of #3 is absolutely disgusting! Something needs to be done to address that stench.

Hole 3 is next to a pond the smells like sewer water. Makes you hold your breath. The fairways need mowed. Lots of long grass. Fun course but just need some attention.

Fairways are not being taken care of. Far too many weeds to make play enjoyable.

Every time I play this course they charge me an extra 5 dollars per player extra. My confirmation e mail says payed in full. They are stealing from the americas that book on line through your service. Repremend them or tell us a extra charge will be added. I will never play that course ever again. They don't give you a receipt for the extra charge. 😖

Looks like they took care of the longer rough and cut the tee boxes just need to cut the greens to make a little quicker then perfect

Lack of up keep some teeth boxes need attention weeds growing, the rough has not been cut in a very long time its 8-10 inches and impossible to play out of . The fairways are great other than the rough. The greens were slow but they cut some which are great now . My friend could not book on golf now and they wanted $75 at the pro shop when I pd inder $20 . We go there often ??

Stay away from the water - got a nasty bacterial infection- sore throat lasting over a week. If your ball goes in the water, leave it.
