My opinion
Course was reasonable but the greens just need some care
Good general course just needs some TLC on the greens
For what we paid to play the course was really good value for money and for the time of year with the weather we have had. Very decent.
Only down side to the course was some of the greens, looked like they had a bit of decease on them and bare patches. Not a knock on the course, a little tender love and care on them is needed but other than that good course
Derby course
The course was pretty well layed out the greens were a little bit rough in places the club house could do with some upgrades, but overall a good day out, thanks
Poor condition
Taken over fairly recently. Zero improvements so far. No attempt to clear leaves from any areas. Greens need ripping up and starting again. Could be a nice course if looked after. £27 on a Saturday is far too much for a below standard golf course
Don't waste your money!!!!
The greens were a disgrace and how they justify charging what they charge for a game on a Saturday morning is a joke.
Every green was damaged and un playable in my opinion. Some of the greens never even had grass on them, holes, tyre marks, they re ruined.
Food is a joke now,a fridge full of un appealing rolls, sandwiches, pork pie, sausage rolls which looked poor in quality.
They no longer do a cooked breakfast, they will do a chip butty for £2.90 which is rather pricey considering the amount and quality.
There is no longer a air blower to blow the mud of your equipment, shoes and believe me there was plenty of mud on me as the course is a mud bath!!!
Overall very Disappointed and I won't be going back.
Great Course
If you’re starting up like my self it’s a great course to really get a feel for good quality courses, some of the greens could be in better condition but then again it is more winter conditions now. Definitely recommend this course.
Very slow play and poor etiquette
I decided to travel further afield to try somewhere new
Tee off was booked for 11.44 and we arrived at 11.00 to give us time to loosen up and practice putting.
We walked to the 1st tee at 11:35 and there was a 2 ball waiting for the tee box with 2 others on the box, straightaway we knew we were going to be delayed. As we spoke to the group infront, we were told that a 2 ball was infront of the tee box and arrived 15 minutes late and still decided to jump infront of people. This then made everyone else late!
It took us 2 ½ hours to complete 9 holes!!! when we arrived at the 10th , the 2 ball infront were just teeing off and then a 4 ball (consisting of 1 adult and 3 juniors) jumped infront of us, it took them so long to get past our driving range that we decided to call it a day.
Making the decision to speak with an official of the club we went into the bar and advised someone of the delay and apprantely the 4 ball stopped for food and then went off again, explained that there was no etiquette and as there was no-one behind us they should have let us through, he expained that they members and I said that they should have known better.
I have sent an email to the golf club but have yet to receive a response.
Very dissaopinted an wont be returning.
Slow play
Although good ,golf now shouldn't book tee times when clubs have competitions on . Was stuck in the middle of a Saturday comp so only did 9 holes.
Enjoyable Course
Well maintained for a municipal golf course. Fairways in fantastic condition but some greens were struggling due to the dry weather and no automatic sprinklers. A nice layout with some interesting holes. Excellent value for money.
What a shame
Played this course regularly 15 years ago and it was a cheap course and a great bargain so i thought i’d go down memory lane and wow what a shock!!!! The course looks like it’s been abandoned as its over grown and greens look like they’ve never seen water which is a crying shame
Good greens and bunkers.
Good value for money, front 9 difficult due to narrow fairways, the opposite on back 9, so offers variety.
Derby golf course
When arrived .only drinks available to buy was coke
.no golf shop to purchase balls etc .the game nearly took us 5 hours as four ball in front was extremely slow .course condition. Fairways need some tlc.the ruf extremely overgrown .greens had bare patches. Throughout .
Excellent Round
Course in great condition rough is very tricky if you get out of shape not played here for over 20 years but still is an excellent challenging course will definitely be going back and good look to the new owners.
