A great place to tune up your game ... if you’re patient
Birch Hills is a terrific layout for an executive course. It does something that few executive courses can do. It asks you to play every shot in your bag. Long hitters may pull the driver 2x times and be tempted by greens just out of their reach, while other skill levels can play the same hole with an iron tee shot, and take their normal approach for par.
And that is where the beauty of this course lies. It asks you to play your game. For you to be uncomfortable on some ranges you may not consider practicing. But each time you are practicing shots you need to play when you move along to longer layouts.
It can be a very slow course when it gets busy, backing up around holes 5-6 but that’s to be expected with so many par 3s on a course.just know that’s what you are in for?
SLOW PACE OF PLAY
Not sure why the pace of play was excruciatingly slow. It took 2 hours to play the front 9. The front 9 shouldn't have taken that long to play.. They allowed 2 big groups to play ahead of us and they also had to wait for the groups ahead of them.
It’s okay
Pro shop staff and starter were friendly and courteous. Pace of play was terrible and need a marshal to keep the pace going . Front 9 fairways and greens were average condition.

Cheap, slow and very slow
Cheap costs to play, cheap fairway appearance, slow greens and even slower pace of play.

Great course for the price!
Me and my buddies have played here twice now, both time at $19 with a cart. It’s a great course for the price, one of the first courses we check out when we’re looking!

Golf Management
I would never play this course again, nor would I recommend it. Right from the start, it was a bad experience: One person checking in many people (slowly); no course starter (confusion everywhere); and the course was in considerably poor condition.

Birch Hills Review
For the money this is a fair price. I think the flags need to be a little taller to be seen from far away and a little sturdier in the hole so they aren't bending to much. Another idea perhaps is have the color of the flag in the tee box as at times cause of the sun you can't see them from far away so it would be a good idea to know where they are from the tee box. Since its just 18 more small flags the cost shouldn't be an issue. Looking forward to playing there again.
