Always loved playing here. Hole 10 is undergoing construction so it is a short par 3 about 100 yards hitting from a mat for the time being.

Great course.pace of play was awesome only 4 hours.i have played 6 different courses around this area and average time has been 6 houre

The course is great but purchasing on GolfNow does not allow you to get the Yorba Linda resident discount. Black gold will not honor the discount if you purchase from GolfNow. It’s a significant discount.

Because of Black Gold Golf Club’s strong reputation and the wonderful memories from my first round there last year, my wife and I decided to visit again despite the long drive of about 25 miles.

However, we were somewhat disappointed that construction work was underway on the 18th hole, one of the signature holes of the course. The beautiful scenery featuring the pond had greatly enhanced the character and prestige of the course, so it was unfortunate not to experience it in its original condition. In addition, due to the construction, we also had to tee off from mat tee boxes on the 10th hole, which was another disappointment.

In situations like this, I believe it would help strengthen customer trust and further enhance the image of Black Gold Golf Club if guests were informed in advance about the construction-related inconveniences, and if some form of compensation were offered, such as slightly reduced green fees or complimentary services.

I sincerely hope for the continued improvement and success of Black Gold Golf Club.

Overall, this was an OK course. The pictures on the website must have been taken during a high rainy season. The rough and surrounding area is not green. In fact it looks like wasteland.

For SoCal, it is a good value if you pay twilight fees. The course has a lot of blind shots and balls are GONE if you miss the fairways. Hence why you need a regular player or a member with you. We played with a member and he saved us a TON of shots because he told us where to hit. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in great shape. Greens were fast which was great.

Great pace until we hit a very slow group on #14. Still finished in 4.5 hours though. Conditions are good, could use a little more sand in some bunkers but greens are great. Layout is awesome, definitely coming back.

This place is fun. Strategic holes, well kept. Good value.

My issue is that the greens are so fast, you cannot play amateur golf -> center of green, no pin hunting kind of safe golf here. The greens are so fast that a good shot for 99% of amateurs will be penalized. You’re on in two, GIR, and will still expect bogey or worse. As long as you’re okay with that, fun course. If you’re not open to tapping a ball and it roll 20ft -> avoid.

Black Gold is a scenic canyon course in the Orange County foothills. The layout is challenging, the conditions very nice despite having been aerated the week before.

Course was in good shape… staff was excellent and everyone was great. However. 10 should’ve just remained closed because hitting off of a mat on top of a wood box was unnecessary. Pace of play was horrendous… Seven parties stuck in two holes was pretty insane.

Played through and skipped 3 holes and it still took us 4 1/2 hours for the round (of 15)

I was warned about the aerification prior to the round, but it didn't really impact the experience. Other than a few bumps here and there, the greens were already bounding back, and most putts rolled smoothly.

GolfNow didn’t inform me we could only play the back 9 only today due to aerificatuin

A tad pricey but overall a great time.

I reserved my round on GOLFNOW app. It was easy. When I arrived to the course it was under construction. There was no prior notice and they did not give any discount because of the course being under construction. If I had cancelled to to this I still would have been charged. I was not happy. So until the course is complete I will not be returning.
