Much improved
Since the new owners have taken over, I’ve seen a lot of improvements in the course conditions. Greens are in better shape, fairways are watered, overgrown areas are better manicured, sand traps are being cleaned up. A couple of things that would be nice to have are working ball cleaners at each tee box, and someone to enforce the pace of play. When the group in front of us can have a 1 1/2 hole gap in front of them, it just slows everything else down (or teach about letting faster golfers play through)
Exeter Golf Course
The Exeter golf course is a smalll nine hole course that has two long holes and the rest are short iron holes. The greens are hard to read due to the roughness and the various cuts, but that is part of the game, right. The staff is family and very nice and inviting.
Friendly
An extremely friendly staff highlights this hidden gem.
The course is in good condition and contributes to improve after the covid shutdown.
It’s a really good course to work in your short game and your approach shots.
Good course
So glad to see them opened again. The course is in pretty good shape, and I’m sure after a couple of weeks in operation, it’ll be even better.
Good for practice
You can play this 9 hole for often cheaper than a bucket of balls. Helps you work on your short game.
Locals-Beginners-Practice Course
Great place to just enjoy yourself, practice your short game, or teach a beginner. Par was 29 not the 31 shown here.
Pace - 5, walked nine and practiced various shots multiple times all in less than an hour.
Course conditions - 2, everything was mostly green, but the greens were shaggy, very slow, and bumpy. One tee is a mat and/or some very rough turf.
Staff - 5, Very laid back atmosphere and players/staff are engaging and friendly.
Value - 5, nine bucks nine holes, not positive but I think the 18 rate is even better.
Food - 2, basic.
Facilities - 2, older well kept, no range.
Overall - 2, compared to most regulation courses there are a few areas lacking (mostly the range) and thus the 2. As a way to just enjoy/practice/teach this is a great place that I highly recommend.
