Had a great time
This was a fairly challenging course for me and we had a great time.
Typical Mountainous Coarse
Drought conditions are very prominent even this early in the summer season.. The fairways were dried out and very rough riding with carts. The coarse requires proper selection of clubs due to narrow fairways. In general & side hill rolls.
Buckingham
Love the layout, challenging course, ground tends to get Hard in the Summer (Lack of Water). Does need some tree trimming done, all in all fun, challenging course to play, Sometimes!
Great layout and friendly staff... too bad...
Too bad COVID financial times have forced management to let the gophers run rampant. The fairways are very potty with bare patches and the rough is really tall (4"-6" in places). Lost a lot of balls due to the long rough. Tee boxes really need TLC. The greens are the only really fair part of the course. They are doing their best to maintain the greens by watering (there were hoses left out near some of greens). Wish that it was possible for them to bring up the maintenance of the grounds. It was probably a really great place to play back in it's heyday.
Bad conditions
The course was in terrible condition. More gopher holes than grass. They allowed five somes and even six somes to play. For the price charged they should be ashamed. It’s worth about a quarter of what they actually charge. Needless to say I will not be going back.
Tough Course
This course is tough. You can be penalized for hitting a good shot in the wrong direction. However, if you play it right, it can be very rewarding. Friendly staff. Definitely enjoy coming here.
Used to be decent, but not anymore!
Its a dirt course, we moved our ball to the closest patch of green. Sometimes 10 plus yards. Sad!
What happened
First of all let's start with the range balls. Small bucket with 6 cracked balls. The Pro Shop is dark and gloomy. The course is set up nicely but the fairways can be muddy and a little weedy. Our golf cart barely ran and had a huge hole in the seat and metal hanging off the side. I spoke to a few Old-Timers who stated that the course is not what it used to be. They are down members and the course needs lots of work. We played this track years ago and it is sad to see its present condition.Good place to take beginners ...also allows frisbee golf...which tells it all.
Mark the owner is great
Majestic view of volcano blown out side of my. Konocti . Course decent condition for price. Tough to keep a course open in lake county. I love to play this course.
Thanks Mark
Nice course
The course was in pretty good shape. Nice greens. However you need to play this course a few times to figure out all the tee box set ups and greens and yardage markers. Still a good course to play. Nice setting.
This course is challenging
A challenging 9 hole course. Fairways and Greens are in good condition ⛳️
Great 9 holes with great staff
Great 9 hole course...top 5 in the state for a reason. Position golf at its best. U break 80 u have played well.greens in great shape and if u can't work the ball stay home in your mom's garage
Fell well short of expectations
We got a great last minute deal online but it took longer to get to the course than we had planned. We called en route and told the starter we would be 5-10 minutes late, which proved to be accurate. Upon check-in we were given the option to pay $10 pp more to play as a twosome or wait for the second half of our scheduled foursome, who evidently were also running late. We chose to wait. Although there was no one on the first tee, we weren't allowed to go out until they showed up. They finally showed up and we teed off about 40 minutes after our scheduled tee time. No one seemed to tee off since our arrival so the course was wide open ahead of us. Our companions played slowly and two groups played around us (think they were playing the second 9 of an 18 hole round). The pace would probably have been OK if we had gone out as two two-somes. We found out during the round that our fellow competitors were given the same option we were given - pay $10 pp more to go out as a twosome. If they had opted for that then we would have waited a long time for no purpose and would probably have gone out as a two-some long after we arrived. This pro-shop revenue-maximizing strategy struck us very poorly.
The course itself was in terrible condition, since there seemed to be no irrigation system on the fairways and the local drought made them more dirt than dead grass. Several times the ball ended up in a rare clump of grass since that was the only thing which stopped the roll, which made play difficult. The fairway bunkers were more dirt than sand.
Although we had paid for 18 holes, all of our foursome called it quits after 9 holes.
Might have been nice back in the day...
Booked without knowing anything about the course.way over priced for conditions.
good distance for 9 hole course
Way Better prices for this course now that they are on golfnow. Fairways have a few dry spots. At 3100 yards it plays a little longer than alot of other 9 hole courses. Not bad now with the cheaper rates.
To bad they decided to up the price of golfnow hotdeals. Went from 12 bucks to 32????...on to Hidden Valley!...
