St marlo

Love this course but pace was so slow the round seemed to take forever. Very challenging course to play but fun.

Not worth the money.

Once it was one of the best for the money - but yesterday I played and the greens were absolutely terrible. This course should be $50 - not sure what is going on lately, but wait until next spring to play it.

Great condition and pace of play

Course in great shape. Marshals were present but I wish they would push the pace of play a little. Still great experience.

Bunkers

All the bunkers are needed sand badly and required to remove weeds and vegetation within the bunkers. The cart paths are also needed to be repaired.

Decent but..

Played St Marlo yesterday.. greens had been aerated last week but considering were not too bad... give it another couple of weeks and a mow and cut.. will be nice. I assumed the amount of dampness on the fringes which didnt allow any bounces... just mud balls and plugged balls is from watering being applied.

Now.. the worst thing by far is the state of the bunkers... not sure when they were last rebuilt or if planned to be but should all be GUR til.. as zero maintenance applied.. not even the oneswith sand had been raked.. . and of course werent told anything about that in the pro shop .

And personally thought the 9th.. the only cart path only hole....380 yard ..par 5 isnt a good golf hole... but the rest of layout is fine.

So would recommend if havent played it...With the bunkers should be GUR caveats.

Bunkers are the worst I have ever seen.

The layout is good, but about half the bunkers have the lining coming up and grass growing in them. This has been lie this for at least 2 years. UNACCEPTABLE

For the money…not feeling it.

Was really looking forward to golfing at the course. The neighborhood has the feel of prestige. But the course conditions were a let down. Have played plenty of $75 courses around Georgia that were amazing. For $105 I was thinking something closer to a Bears Best which I paid $140 for the round. Again, not even close. The cart path was broken up literally on every hole so the ride was rough for 18 holes. The tee boxes were pretty much in rough shape. The fairways were fair. Looks like maybe drainage issues due to multi colored grass. The bunkers were in rough shape as well.

Staff was very very nice. The course was challenging and has all the makings of a great place to play. Just needs a lot of work.

Nicest course around but….

Saint Marlow’s the nicest course around. My only issue was the pace of play and the tee time management. Also, they have a rule of no more than three

Carts per group.

We had a situation where we needed 4, and the starter did not want to bend.

Overall, the course is beautiful the multi million dollar houses that are around are beautiful. Courses in the North Atlanta area should really take lessons from courses in Asia where the green fee allowed you to use the lockers and showers after playing around.

Most groups go out afterwards to eat and if that was the case the courses could attract more people to stay and spend money there at the lodge.

Not a bad public track

This was our first time playing St Marlo, all in all the only real complaint I would have is the pace of play. Our round took 4 hours and 57 minutes. Playing a public course on a Saturday morning I certainly don’t expect to be able to zip around in 3 hours, but a near 5 hour round is a little ridiculous. I did not see a Marshall on the course a single time after we started, several times we were double stacked on a tee box with the group in front of us. From a golf course standpoint, I thought it was a good course in pretty good shape. The greens were fair, a little bumpy (no one seems to care about fixing ball marks) but the speed was good and they were very receptive. The course was well kept for the most part and offered a good balance of challenging holes while also giving opportunities to score. I would probably play this course again if I didn’t have to deal with pace issues.

Nice layout, but too overpriced for these greens.

The course layout is good, played the blue tees and a lot of holes you will struggle with a driver unless you are in full control. The greens are not very good. They were very slow, haven’t been rolled and a lot of bare spots. I paid over $100 to play this course….WAY TOO MUCH for this course
