linksy with an abundance of water Photo submitted by MarkMolyneux on 03/11/2020

Layout was good, lots of water holes. Rough and fairways could use some weed killer but the biggest drawback was the greens and pin positions. The greens were very fast, I mean as fast if not faster than a private clubs greens and the pin positions were 80% on a sloped part of the greens. Miss the cup tapping a downhill put and it's off the green. Public courses should not have that kind of difficulty for average players and also if they want to speed up play to get more rounds in.
Great course layout, beautiful water views, slower pace on weekend
Took a few friends golfing for the first time and we were keeping up with the group ahead of us to make sure the groups behind us weren’t being held back too much. We were on the group ahead of us (who were on the group ahead of them as well) and the round took about 4.5 hours
Greens rolling true, tee boxes are mostly flat but some are still clearly being worked on.
We played on a day with random showers so it played really tough
Great Course 🏌️♂️⛳️
I will be back for sure. Hidden Gem and very underrated
Good but challenging
St. Anne’s definitely had its pluses and minus. The course is in good shape - and has some really interesting shots. Greens were immaculate.
The thing with this course is it’s really not made for high handicap golfers. If you’re a +20 or higher I’d suggest any of the other courses in Middletown. There is water on almost every hole and some of the carries off the tee are pretty far, so be prepared to lose plenty of balls. 10-10 recommend “teeing it forward” here. I’m a 13 handicap and play the senior tees here and it’s a much better experience.
July Round
Played on July 4th weekend. Have always been a big fan of the layout. Conditions were pretty good. Only a few blemishes on a green or two. Pizza at the Lore was a great way to end the day afterwards. Unlike any other course you’ll find in the area.
Enjoyable Round
Had a great day on the course, the conditions were excellent and all the staff were even better.
First time playing
Course had a good pace of play greens were in great shape overall great experience for the price
Good Value
Had a good time, finished round in less than 4 hours!
First round at St. Anne’s
This is an open type of course that is in very nice condition. Fairways and greens are excellent. Bunkers are average. Staff is extremely nice. Enjoyed my round and will be back.
First time out
A sneaky challenging course. Course knowledge changes the game here. Conditions were above average, looks to be working through a tee renovation. Wet could really challenge this course but a wide variety of layouts and some great par 3s. Greens ran consistently. Staff is wonderful. Ran a cart on a Friday. Food at the LORE was great and good drink selections.
Great course
Awesome pace awesome layout. Definitely need to hit the long ball on a few holes. The carry’s over some ponds/tall grass made it interesting. But for my first time there I had a great time. Could use a few more trees just to get some shade
Good, and challenging
I’ve played St Anne’s twice now and I like it. As I understand it, the course has a complicated history, which may explain some of its quirks (e.g., 6th hole coming back to the clubhouse), but it presents now as a challenging links-style course, but with the addition of water on 12 holes! The course conditions were good, the routing is interesting and the facilities and staff are excellent. Everyone working there seems really happy to be there and enthusiastic about the place. I don’t know what hiring process they are using, but they’ve figured something out! From the white tees, this is a long test and I played well to break 100. I tried moving up one set and I had more fun, and actually got to hit something other than a hybrid into the greens. Greens fees were $65 during the week.
Beautiful Links Course
Hot day on this lovely course. Booked a good value on a hot deal.
Pro shop staff, bag attendants and starters were super friendly and welcoming.
It was very crowded, but the rangers should do a much better job enforcing pace of play. We asked the ranger what the hold up was and he said the group 2 in front of us had several open holes that m front of them. No sense of having a ranger who doesn’t enforce pace of play.
Waiting on every hole was very frustrating, especially in the 95 degree heat.
Awesome!
One of my favorite courses around since it’s renovations. We’ll be back many more times!
Beautiful course, great layout, great condition, friendly staff. I played on a Monday , only a few people out so I was able to roll through in about 2 1/2 hours. I spent more time driving to play 1 1/2 hours each way than I did playing but would do it again.
