Interlocken Golf Club - Sunshine/Vista
About
The Sunshine/Vista Course at the Interlocken Golf Club is one of three courses offered at the facility. The courses were designed by a team of famous golfers, David Graham who was a U.S. Open Champion in 1981 and Gary Parks. They are all nine-hole courses that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The mountainous terrain creates dramatic elevation changes. Interlocken Golf Club's greens are difficult to read and feature lots of undulation. There are also water hazards and bunkers that come into play. The beautiful scenery of the course allows for beautiful views and sometimes golfers can even see a fox or deer roaming the golf course.

Slow play, think rough, impossible greens
With a 72.5 difficulty rating, Omni Interlocken is NOT a good course for beginner or average players. It is a fair challenge for skilled golfers, but very difficult and not at all fun for the average recreational golfer. The rough is so thick, it takes almost superhuman strength to advance your ball. And then there are the reeds that grow high out of smelly swamps. If your ball lands in the reeds, don't even bother looking for the now slimy thing. Just drop another ball & play on. The elevated greens with false fronts guarantee that your approach shot will roll into a greenside bunker, grassy swale; or back down the fairway. Once you finally manage to get on a green, with their crazy levels & unfair pin positions, getting it in the hole without 3-putting or more is unlikely. Even well read putts will suddenly dart away from the hole in every direction. Then there is the issue of slow play. Although Omni Interlocken boast 27-holes, only 18 are open during the week, so they load up the course sending groups (sometimes groups of 5 or 6) out every 9 minutes, though they suggest a round should take about 4 hours & 15 minutes (that's about 14 minutes a hole). The course immediately gets backed up and golfers have to wait on every shot while the impatient group behind pushes you to hurry. It's not a fun way to spend $180- & 4 to 5 hours.
Great Course
Course was in great condition and staff were top notch!Really enjoyed my experience.
Nice course, challenging greens
Very nice course good Fairways not very difficult, but the greens were incredibly fast and difficult to get a handle on my first time
Best golf experience in the greater Denver area.
Great golf course, incredibly scenic, well maintained and very friendly staff.
One of the Best in Colorado
As someone who’s played 25+ public golf courses in and around the Denver area, Omni is at the top of my list. As soon as I stepped on the property, the staff were there to assist. Driving a cart to my car, putting on my bag, and being a welcoming and friendly face was refreshing to experience. Pros were friendly, professional, and accommodating. Practice facilities were some of the nicest I’ve seen at a public course.
Now for the actual course. Out of the 3-9 hole courses, I played two, Vista and Sunshine. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in amazing condition. Fairways are open with a good amount of undulation, making it a great course for both new players that struggle hitting fairways and advanced players as accuracy and creativity off these tees puts you in great positions to score. For the Greens, they are the most challenging part of the course. The greens are 2-3 tiers, sloped, and fast. Yet, 17/18 pin locations were fair in my opinion (Vistas pin placement on hole 3 was diabolical). This course will make you feel good about your long game and question everything about your short game. Pace of play was great. Finished in 3 hours 30 mins, which for a public course is a rare experience.
Overall, Omni is worth the price. $140 for a round/cart/practice balls is a lot in my opinion, but you definitely get what you pay for at this golf course. Top tier staff, top tier facilities, top tier courses, and top tier views. It’s not just another public golf course, it’s a great golf experience from start to finish. Highly recommend.
Top notch
Well maintained course..But if you're a high handicap, id look for an easy track. This is not a beginner course
Hurry wait hurry wait
Waited 10-15 min on every tee box, only to feel rushed by players hitting behind. Also cart constantly stopped and made us reverse when we were no where near a restricted area.
This course was a great layout
