Pine Creek Golf Club
About
Pine Creek Golf Course is part of the La Plata Communities in Colorado Springs. The course winds through the Pine Creek Valley, providing a lush and varied landscape. The course sprawls across high plains grasslands with abundant trees and lakes coming into play throughout. The seemingly gentle terrain has tricky undulations that total over 375 feet of elevation changes. The front is a canyon-style nine while the back is more of an American links design. There are creek beds coming into play on nearly every hole as well as strategically placed bunkers. In addition to the challenging round, the golf course offers stunning views of Pikes Peak, the Front Range, and the entire Colorado Springs skyline. At Pine Creek there is also a unique elevated, target-oriented grass driving range, a practice green, and a short game area.

A heavy frost covered the vegetation as the maintenance crews blew out the sprinkler system as we played. This is the tee box of # 11. Photo submitted by skibumcolorado on 11/21/2013
Tough Rough and no marshal?
for weekend public golfers they should mow the rough a little lower, it will make finding balls in the rough easier and faster.
we teed off at 8:30am on Saturday morning ( probably 6th or 7th group) yet pace of play was over 4.5 hours??? no reason for that, people need to be kept moving at a better pace than that. I am sure the whole day was a mess with that kind of start. 4 average golfers were waiting for the group in front of us on EVERY shot.
Great course!
Challenging but fun! If you read the play book it tells you how to execute the hole.
The 5’s didn’t seem too far. The 3’s were just right and if you can get to the 150 post on the 4’s you are in great shape for an approach shot.
Course was in great shape and the views were incredible!
Great condition, pace of play 5.5 hours.
The course is in great shape. Best I’ve seen it. As for the pace of play…. All cos corses are beyond slow these days. The 20-30 handicappers playing from back tees, taking 20-25 mins per hole hitting 3-4 balls off every tee box and at each shot then 10 mins looking for the 6-8 balls they have scattered all over the course isn’t the game of golf I love. I recommend the starter making sure everyone knows the pace of play. Pick up at double par. Never ever ever let a group of walkers out in a weekend. Never never never. Give them a cart or suffer the bad reviews. Yesterday at least 4 groups left after 9 due to slow slow slow slow slow play! We almost left as well. I left at 5.5 hours I didn’t even finish!
Roughhhhhhh
This course is great. A couple of things make it a little too pricey. Rough is terribly long, and the bunkers are really bad. I’ve consider it my home course, since moving to Colorado in 2021. Have never seen a groomed bunker. They are working to resolve drainage issues, but come on people. Take care of the things that slow down play.
Great Course
Pine Creek is an excellent golf course. I enjoy playing there each and every time.
Awesome military course
Great course with free range balls included in the round. Starter got me out early, and it was a very nice experience all around. Carts have GPS as well which is a nice perk.
Great Course
Great course with pure greens. Layout was challenging. The scenery is beautiful with a great view of pikes peak.
Mountain golf
I come from flat golfing and found the elevation change’s challenging. Played on a Saturday and found the pace very slow
Challenging with some renovations
We played on a weekday with no delays. The tee boxes and greens were in above average condition especially the greens. The sand trips were extremely wet and unplayable. There is a lot of ups and downs on the fairways and if you haven't played it could be tricky to navigate some holes. Several of the last holes are interrupted by a major installation of a permanent path along Pine Creek.
The Good & The Bad
Been playing Pine Creek forever--used to be my favorite course in Colorado Springs. Couple years back the fairways and some greens were substandard. This year there has been a massive improvement--greens and fairways are terrific--THE GOOD. Now for THE BAD--(1) driving range is mostly all sand and dirt. Never seen it in such sad sad condition. (2) bunkers are abysmal--hard pan, little sand and mostly dirt. These bad conditions are unacceptable at any green fees price but at Pine Creek's $109 price, this is ridiculous. We had a hot deals price which eased the pain of the conditions. Even if THE BAD conditions were fixed, I think Pine Creek is pricing itself out of the market for a good many players.
Beautiful and Well Maintained
We hope to play this course again on a future trip. The facilities are top notch and we had a challenging yet enjoyable round on a course with stunning views.
Perfect combo of risk and reward!
An exciting course to play that features the perfect combination of risk/reward, classic Colorado mountain golf. The natural high fescue-like grass harks back to Scotland and the thick first cut of rough will make you re-think your driver on every hole unless you're straight all day. Great scenery so don't forget your camera.
Nice course price is a little high but still really nice course
Greens and fairways were in good shape course is perfect for someone who is looking for a challenging course but not something impossible in a pretty high handicapper and still had a great time greens rolled super smooth and weren’t too fast or too slow.
Overall good conditions
Overall good course conditions. The construction is out of their control but makes for an eye sore.
Greens played slow but in good condition. Some fairways were pretty long and about half of the tee boxes were beat up.
Wouldn’t pay the $100+ for the round but got it at a hot deal and was worth it
