About
Located in Longmont, the nine-hole, municipal Sunset Golf Course is a great, affordable option for beginners and families. Opened in 1924, it is one of Colorado's oldest golf courses. Although experienced golfers may not find it challenging enough, the course provides an excellent spot to practice your short game and it is definitely one of the most scenic courses in the area with beautiful views of Long's Peak. The par-68 course covers 5,966 yards from its 18-hole longest tees. The terrain of Sunset Golf Course is quite hilly and the tree-lined fairways are very narrow. No water hazards come into play but the course is well-bunkered. The signature hole is the par-4 fourth hole.

Best course in CO for the money
There isn’t a course with better views or better maintained to be able to hop on and play a quick nine in the state. Love this course!

Great day for golf. Course in great shape and beautiful. Mid day tee time and course wide open. Short but challenging, still gotta hit your shot.

Fun little course, easy to play
This was my first time at Sunset, however, I'll be back because of the good conditions and course layout. For a beginner or someone looking for a laid back course layout, this is a pretty ideal course. The greens roll great. Pace of play was on point.

A great little 9 hole course
Sunset is always fun to play with some of the best Mountain View’s around. Small but challenging and enjoyable to get 9 in anytime !

Best shale ever
Small but not as small as it looks. Driver on 6 of the 9 holes. One long par 3. Overall exactly half of an 18-hole course. Great fairways. Easy rough. Greens were excellent. The best I’ve seen it in two years. Worth the drive and priced right.

Convenient
Sunset Golf Course is awesome to squeeze in a quick nine without taking all day. it is a fun course and has many different challenges to offer. I love this course

A hidden gem
Tucked into a quaint residential area with great Mountain Views. Half of a par 72 course, not a par 3 like you would expect. It’s not fancy but comfortable. Reasonable price. Well maintained. Good for husband/wife outing.

tough but good
Beautiful course well maintained by a super grounds crew. Great course, narrow fairways makes you a careful driver - easy to get into trouble - but a fun course.
Best Couples Course in Colorado
Thank you City of Longmont for making available this incredibly beautiful Golf Course. The views of the Continental Divide and Foothills is fantastic! The course is well cared for, and the staff is the best of any course we've played. It's a wonderful course to invite another couple to play along with you, and enjoy your time together. A Gem in Longmont
I play this course a lot--20 - 40 times a year--and always find in great shape. During the middle of the playing season it is often in superior shape compared to other course I might play in the Denver Metro Area. For me, this is a friendly place--great clubhouse environment--with so many locals in a great mood. It makes playing Sunset a joy.
I hope to play it 40 times this year!

A hidden gem. One-half of an 18-hole course. Well maintained. Price
Is more the reasonable. My wife loves it. Friendly staff. Pace of play is good. No par 5’s but long par 4’s. Bring the driver. Two par 3’s. One you can
use a 3-metal; the other a raised Tee box with choice of two different greens. Great views of the front range. No super amenities but very comfortable. Swimming pool next door.

Beautiful setting
Sunset golf course was in great shape on 9/16/19! I saw very few ball Marks’s on the greens- and they were fast ! The fairways were also in good shape, only filled a couple divots along the way. I’d say I go at lucky with the pace of play, 2 hours for 9.
