About
Located in Longmont, the nine-hole, municipal Sunset Golf Course is a great, affordable option for beginners and families. Opened in 1924, it is one of Colorado's oldest golf courses. Although experienced golfers may not find it challenging enough, the course provides an excellent spot to practice your short game and it is definitely one of the most scenic courses in the area with beautiful views of Long's Peak. The par-34 course covers 2,981 yards from its longest tees. The terrain of Sunset Golf Course is quite hilly and the tree-lined fairways are very narrow. No water hazards come into play but the course is well-bunkered. The signature hole is the par-4 fourth hole.

Fun
As we are relatively new to the sport we found it to be a fun course, although as I stated as newbies we really needed a driving range to warm up but this course does not have one. Nonetheless a great course for us.
Golfing in February
Playing golf in the middle of February!! Great round and he course was in good condition for the time of year. Super technical and tight. Great spot to work on your iron skills.

Decent shape for early in the season
For early March, the course wasn't in bad shape. It was busy so the pace was a little slow at times. It was still a great outing. For a 9 hole course, I really like Sunset. It can be challenging

Fun course!
This is a fun course and can be a bit challenging if you miss. Lots of mature trees. I played on Sunday so the Marshall was stacking the tee boxes. If this happens to you I suggest that you discuss slow play and max shots prior to starting. Three over is good. Should be a rule. This course should never take almost three hours.

Sunset
Always fun to play Sunset. Pace can be a bit slow if you get behind some folks, but not unexpected. Challenging enough, but not too difficult.
A fun friendly place for a quick round
If you are looking for a fun place for a quick round with your spouse or buddies, this is your place. Short but challenging with great scenery it makes for a great outing. Friendly staff, and the course is in great condition right now.

course was in great shape. just a tip to help you on the greens,,, they all break towards Boulder...

A great day of golf with my 13 year old son! We had a blast.
Longmont Sunset Course
Its only $15 to walk 9holes, sometimes cheaper depending on time. If you look on golfnow.com sometimes you can play 9 for $10, golf cart included. The course is usually in great condition. The course doesn't look overwhelmingly difficult. Looks can be deceiving. I recommend this course, it has great value and gorgeous view. Last comment don't try to overpower the course.
Lush in September
I've never seen this course be so Lush with Green Grass in September. The summer rain has done wonders. That makes the rough more challenging to play out of. Hitting straight is now more important than ever at this course.
A good municipal course
The course was a good municipal course, where a beginner didn't feel too stressed by the course itself. The pace was tricky, as we got backed up a bit towards the end of the round of 9 holes. The value for the money was great and I would definitely go back.

it was sweet! played had no problems it sprinkled a little so make sure the weather is goo before purchasing..
good 9 holes
Great course for a quick 9, it could have some more forward tees for ladies, regular red tees too long for average women players.

plaing something diferent
small greens ,well protected, easily missed and if you miss and are on the wrong side of the green, you have a troublesome chip, good luck. rough heavy , fairways narrow, always a fun course even though it is only a 9 holer.
Nice shady course
This municiple course has nice old large trees and is a great 9 hole course on a hot summer day. The second cut was a bit tall for some but I prefer this. I often meet up after work for a quick 9. Hole #6 is one you have to watch so you don't overshoot the green and end up in the street.
