A unique layout in a ‘rain forest’ setting. Very challenging layout with numerous elevation changes and undulating fairways. Narrow landing areas will require precise shots. Greens were very slow and needed some attention. The driving range was closed and looked like it hadn’t been open for quite sometime. The washroom on the front nine was closed with no backup, leaving our female playing partners dismayed.. Snackbar was also closed due to Covid. Neil the starter was very helpful and friendly. Always welcoming when you have a good starter greeting visitors. This course is not walkable . Carts are restricted to cart paths only so our round was close to 5 hours. This may have been a result from us admiring the natural beauty of the layout in a very lush and ‘tropical’ setting. Great picture material.

Course was in rough shape.

Not worth 160.00 but ok on teeoff deals at 80.00

Course has deteriorated over the years.

Needs some major maintenance to bring it back to its glory days.

But bring your camera as the scenery is outstanding worth the cost of admission.

Beautiful course bring lots of balls 3 or 5 blind holes golf carts were a great help accuracy’ is more important than distance spend some time on the putting green it’s a mountain course sometimes the putts break uphill

Target golf course, recent rain had made the course very muddy and cart path only (which is horribly slow and terrible to hit off of). Our weather - rained a couple days before and was 80-85 degrees all day while we played and was still very muddy.

Beautiful sites but for a course at that level to not have any practice facilities open to warm up is absolutely horrible. I do not recommend if practice facilities aren’t open, and if that wet out on the course for cart path only because it’s a 6 hour round.

Course was very hard but an amazing experience, views are absolutely unbeatable.

The course was cart path only because of recent rains. Short course made it target golf. Only used a driver four or five times. Greens putt true and reasonable speed considering how wet the course was. Extremely beautiful course.

It was with great disappointment in January 2021 that we discovered the Kualau golf course on Oahu had closed. However, Royal Hawaiian is a sister course and has many of the same features. There are many forced carries, water hazards, trees in the fairway, and expect it to be rather moist. The mist covered mountains that loom overhead and the jungle atmosphere give this course a uniqueness rarely found elsewhere. The practice tee is still closed because of Covid restrictions, so if you want to warm up you’ll have to do it elsewhere. The staff is fiercely loyal to their facility and the upkeep must be a tremendous labor of love. This course will be an annual pilgrimage for as long as we are coming to Oahu.

Guy that check carts out tried to hook me up with another guy that had it a tee time an hour later than mine so it would not have to send two carts out very odd we were both uncomfortable I came in a bit late with the cart the cart attendant handed me an empty beer bottle and the cap out of the cart when I was leaving counter staff was friendly though other than that the course layout is nice just very wet because close to the mountains

Perfectly placed in the middle of a Jurassic Park landscape. Vert nice course layout with lot of slope and elevation.

I recommend to take enough golf balls, as it is easy to loose some on this course and also plan more time for a round as on other courses.

The course is very wet at the moment! But we still booked again two day later as we liked the layout and landscape so much!!

Really felt like playing in a Jurassic park, great layout with high elevation changes, with a great mountain view, Pace of play was great from a Saturday game.

We played the Prince course on a sunny and windy day. The wind probably blows all of the time so it was a normal day. But when you play into the wind some of the holes are a lot tougher. The course was in great shape and water comes into play often. I was in bunkers several times and they were immaculate. Playing HI courses when you are a tourist is always expensive but that's the price of traveling there and playing golf. There are great GPS screens in the cart so that was helpful.
