About
The Gold Course from Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills is the only 18-hole course at the facility. Designed by Frank Hummel, the course opened in 1959 and used to include the 9 holes of the Blue Course as the front nine. Currently however, both the Gold and the Blue are separate courses. The landscape of the Gold is hilly and seven ponds create a beautiful atmosphere while also adding challenging water hazards to eleven holes. Although the entire course is scenic, the 12th hole is considered to have the most picturesque views. Its elevated tee offers gorgeous vistas of the majestic Rocky Mountains. Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills is known not only for its gorgeous scenery, it has also received acclaim from golf publications such as Golf Digest.

Nice condition bad layout
Course is kept in good condition but the layout of the course in confusing and non intuitive in areas.
I’ve played worse
The course has deteriorated a bit over the years. A few of the tee boxes were in really bad shape. The one par 3 on the back 9, you couldn’t find a decent piece of grass anywhere on it to tee up from. Also the sand in the bunkers is horrible. Complete hardpan. I ran into a maintenance guy out there that was repairing the lip on a bunker and I mentioned they need to add some sand and he said they’ve been knowing that for a long time and have no intentions to do anything about it. You can’t play a proper bunker shot out of those.
NO CART DELAY
I didn't get a cart until I went inside to ask. This was 1min before my tee time. Nobody seemed to care and this took away from the enjoyment of playing this course. We need a better system or have enough carts. Unable to warm up at the range.
Great course, pace of play slow
The course was having a tournament, but we teed off at 6:50am & the round took 5 hours (played with 2 former college golfers too, we could’ve finished in 3 hours 30 minutes). The actual course & staff are great though.
Can’t go wrong
This is a cannot miss golf opportunity. The course is in excellent shape, the staff are super friendly, and the prices were quite reasonable. This is usually my go to course especially when I’m bringing friends in from out of town. Thank you.
Good course for the money.
This course is decent. Nice mature trees. Reasonably well maintained. No complaints.
Good course for the money but SLOW
I can't remember the last time I played a round in regulation time, weekday or weekend. Budget 5 hrs min.
Tons of hacks. Course conditions are pretty good. Greens right now are rolling nice.
Wish we could of actually played at a decent pace
I can totally understand having to wait and also know what “pace of play is” but when it takes more than an hour and a half to only get started on the fourth hole and the people in front of us would not let us play through is that’s a little bit ridiculous to me. The pro shop told us they didn’t have a Marshall that’s out there all the time. Finally we just skipped a hole so we could play at our pace and the people still hit into us so we were just done and when we asked for a rain check the pro shop couldn’t give us one. I’m sorry but maybe don’t drop three or four balls when you have people waiting behind you.
