Richter Park Golf Course
About
Situated at the heart of Fairfield County, Richter Park Golf Course is situated along the West Lake Reservoir. The course has been ranked among not only the top ten golf courses in Connecticut but also as one of the top 25 public courses in the country. The course sprawls across more than 180 acres of gently rolling hills. Water has a prominent presence throughout, with the Reservoir bordering seven holes on the front nine and water hazards coming into play on a total of 14 holes. In addition to the water, there are a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic, which can make it a tough golf course to play your first time. Be prepared for a few blind shots. Richter Park's signature hole, the par-5 12th, is bordered by Boggs Pond. Your third shot will be over water to a bunkered green.

Golfer Reviews
Winter took its toll on this cou4sw3
We played this course last year and it was excellent. Yesterday it was not. There were three temporary greens, and they really should have closed a few more. The better greens were still in rough shape The fairways were also very challenging because of the damage done by the winter. We'll try this course again next year.
Richter Shotgun Start
Format was great in that the 10am shotgun start allowed the weather to warm up at this time of year. The leaf blowing was excellent considering the time of year, but the only thing bad about the course was that they aerated ALL 18 holes and the greens were a mess!! Would have been upset and probably would have asked for a refund if paying full price, but got a Golf Now Hot Deal. Can't wait to go back next year!
Beautiful course
The course was beautiful and well maintained. The rangers are there for those blind holes to help keep pace of play. Great day!
Wonderful and challenging course
Just a wonderful course. A bit dried out due to lack of rain in the last month, but otherwise in very good condition. The sand in the bunkers was dry and loose. The best part of this course is the variety of holes which test every part of one's game: water holes, elevated tee boxes, long narrow fairways, well-guarded greens, and plenty of doglegs. And the course is very aesthetically pleasing. Definitely will play there again.
Golf Now HOLE IN ONE!
First one in 30 years! Never would have been on the course if it wasen't for the Great Rate on Golf Now!
Beautiful day
Great day, weather-wise. Course was in excellent condition, especially considering the lack of rain. Pace of play was dreadful. More rangers needed to expedite play.
A good time
My friend and I played Richter for the first time yesterday. Course was in good shape. Greens were very slow and in average shape. Great layout. Very challenging and the scenery is beautiful.
Saturday
No Rangers in the afternoon. Couldn't finish the round. Found out a few holes a head of us were 2 adults with 4 young approx 10-12 year olds running all over the course. After the morning rush there are no rangers or course supervision. Pay good money not to finish
Greens used to be faster!
Tees, fairways, greens and sand all in great condition.,. But,I love fast greens, and was expecting these to be faster! I used to play here often years ago and greens rolled faster back then., These were 8-10 today in my opinion. I think this is a fun and challenging course. It has a couple of blind tee shots with mirrors above to guide as a for caddy would. This is the type of course that makes you want to play it often to learn the slopes and angles for lower scores.
So slow
I've played this course many times and whenever I do so on the weekends it seems to be overbooked. We were unable to get in 18 holes before darkness (took over 5 hours for 15 holes) and we were waiting on every tee box.
Great course
I love playing Richter , since the course is always in great condition! The course is challenging but fair . I especially like the par 3's on the front nine at 3 & 5.
Good better then good
I will play two times more this yearn
Trust.me. Just booking and play
Beautiful view and course
Beautiful course, but slow, bumpy greens
This is a beautiful layout with some very interesting holes. However, when I played there I felt the greens were below average, with respect to speed and smoothness. Also, they have a driving range/practice facility but it is only used for lessons/clinics. They charge pretty steep prices for non-residents here. So, I expect better for the money. There are many other muni courses in CT that have much better greens for much less money (Orange Hills, Tashua Knolls, Smith Richardson, to name a few).
Beautiful Course!
I'd heard a lot about this course and finally got a chance to play it. It lived up to all expectations! Very challenging but fair, beautiful views and in great condition. Highly recommend playing here!!
