One of the toughest holes here is the second, a long par-4 with woods to the left, more trees on the right, and two large bunkers guarding the green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/01/2024

The fifth is a gem of a par-five, starting with a terrific downhill tee shot and a view of Hartford in the distance. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/01/2024

Nine is a classic uphill par-4; its fairway doglegs left, then heads for this relatively narrow green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/01/2024

Twelve doglegs right, then ascend a small hill to a pitched green, a green that is often treacherously fast downhill. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/01/2024

Guarding the left of fairway thirteen is a prominent water hazard, but it can be as fatal as it is beautiful. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/01/2024

A golfer putts out on the green at hole fourteen, which may be the best short four-par at East Hartford. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/01/2024

They need to cut the rough so that you can find your ball.
The greens are excellent. The regular tees are pretty good but the senior and ladies tees need to be made bigger and they need to be maintained a lot better than they are now. The rough is 3" to 4" inches high in a lot of areas around the course, it needs to be lowered to 1" to 1 .5" inches high so that you can find your ball. This is what slows down play , golfers want to find their balls and be able to move along instead of looking for it and getting mad because they can't find it. I think this is part of the reason for more golfers not playing the course. The rates are good and the staff is always pleasant and helpful and the restaurant is also excellent.
Disappointed
The conditions of the course were not good with the exception of the greens which were excellent with good speeds. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I understand that with the time of year conditions would not be optimal. Hope they improve for next year.
East Hartford gold course
Pretty straight, a few challenging holes, course in good condition considering recent weather conditions during the summer.
So So Public
Course was pretty baked out. Very dry summer. Layout is okay. Greens in good shape. Tee boxes were fair. Pace of play pretty slow. Took us around 5:15 to complete 18 holes...
Cart Fee Shocked
After a lengthy time of not being able to find a tee time (within our weekly budget for Sunday golf) on Saturday night, I booked what seemed like a decent price.of ($33) each for walking.. The last time we played there it was $33 with a cart.... I should have checked Cart fees (!) because when we got there, we were charged $15 each to share a cart. That brought it to $48 each.
When asked why the high cart fee, he said there was a shortage of carts.
Then on the first hole - they were transporting a string of carts across the fairway to the clubhouse.
My wife said for what we paid we could have gone to a better course. She was right.
NOT WORTH THE MONEY!
Signed up for a HOT DEAL time through Golf Now app for $29 per person. All fine until they wanted another $15 PER PERSON for 1 cart! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! For that price at that course should have included the cart. I could have played a 5 star course for $100. Ridiculous! Won’t be going back again this year until they’re prices are more reasonable.
You must be crazy if you think you can play a 5 star golf course for $44 including cart and if you could, why didn’t you. I guess you don’t play much golf if you think $44 with cart for a weekend is a lot of money. Try finding one cheaper. Let me know where you can find a course for $29 including cart on a weekend. Good luck.
Courses needs a lot of work
A last minute change of plans on labor day and tee time availability led to a round a EH Municipal course. Paired up with a single and a 2some who were pleasant company. The course is in tough shape with the tee boxes, large portions of fairway & rough burned out. Burned out areas were simply too large to play as ground under repair on most holes. Greens were in ok shape, had many spike and pitch marks making it difficult for putts to hold their line. Bunkers were inconsistent, a couple with decent sand others w a thin layer covering hard packed dirt. Layout is quite boring w most holes side by side In a out & back format, little to distinguish many of the holes.
Nice Course
This course played very nice. The greens were in good shape, some parts of the fairways were not in the greatest shape but overall they played well. I would go back there for sure. Nice layout of the holes.
Pleasantly surprised....
I last played here two years ago. The course was not in good shape and resolved to avoid it in the future. So today, my wife makes plans for a last minute vacation with my cousin so I am now free on a Sunday when I usually don't play. East Hartford was the best available option. It was "I need to get out of the house" moment. I was paired with a married couple and a correctional guard who were all great folks to play with. So for the course.. the bunkers had excellent sand in them which was a sore point on the last visit. The greens were in excellent shape. The fairway did have a few bare spots but the drought in CT is partly to blame. You can't get in much trouble here because it is a typical up and down course where most wayward shots end up in the next fairway. Now being a 17 handicap, the course layout was perfect for me though I could imagine that a scratch golfer may find it boring. To finalize, I will come back again soon. I did have a beer and wings in the restaurant afterwards so no complaints there either.
Good pace, grass is beat up badly
Worst grass I’ve played on this year. I know it’s hot but the other locals have much better fairway/green conditions
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
You can’t play much golf if you think $48 is a lot to play on a weekend. That’s a bargain. Check out the “much better” golf courses and see what they get. It’s not their fault if you have a small budget for golf.
