Fairchild wheeler black course
Great shape and not too crowded, pace of play was perfect and the course in excellent shap
Same old Wheel
Considering all the rain we had this spring the course was in great shape except the greens were to slow. Pace of play,same old wheel. Played the front in 1:45 mins, group in front of us were new golfers but they moved and never held us up, even let us go thru at the turn. Back to 2:40 mins, with 16,17&18 taking almost an hour! There went the rythm and the round.

SLOW Greens
The greens are in desperate need of being rolled. They are bumpy and extremely slow.

Course Needs Work
The Black course needs work. Holes 13 ,14 and 16 are virtually unplayable because of wet and soggy conditions and/or greens under constant repair. Many of the other holes have very wet spots that make many lies unplayable.
Holes 1 and 10 on the Red course are also in crummy shape and one of the holes on the back nine of the Red course (might be #13 or 14 is always cart path only because it just doesn't drain even though it's very flat and open. Go figure!
The price to play is very fair. .

Good course!
Played the Black course. Good course not much water at all. Fast pace, but a very hilly course. Overall good course for the price.

Fairchild Wheeler Black Course
Our foursome finished our round in three hours and forty-five minutes. The pace of pay was great and so were the course conditions. The tee boxes, fairways, and roughs were all well manicured. The putting surfaces had decent speed and are just coming off the last signs of airification.There was evidence of golf maintenance workers helping to make the course even better. The layout on the black course has a terrific blend of holes from some easier while some very challenging.The head professional and staff at the Wheel are top notch being always friendly and on top of things.The practice putting green has great size to practice long , medium, and short putts before your round of golf. Lastly , the driving range offers a good deal for a bucket of about 45 balls for a cost of $5 only.I recommend players to play here , you will be happy you made the visit.

Fairchild Wheeler Black Course
We played in a twosome and finished our round in three hours and fifteen minutes. The pace of play was great and the condition of tees and fairways were in very good shape. The greens are just about ready to heal from recent airification and they were cut the same day so the speed of the greens was quite good. Overall, the layout is terrific for a public course and the staff is awesome. The course offers a large practice putting green and a good driving range. The balls are $5 dollars for a bucket of 45 balls. I recommend players come visit the "Wheel" for a nice round of golf at an affordable rate.The Vazzy's restaurant has great food too.

Spring golf
Course/greens in great condition considering recent rains. Great course in this area , a gem! Starters were very helpful, friendly. A Beginner would find this quite challenging even though fairways aren't too tight. Slope comes into play for a number of holes. Great course to play to make you use variety of your clubs.

Fairchild Wheeler Black Course
Our foursome teed off at noon and finished the round in three hours and forty-five minutes. It was cart path only due to recent rain storm but the round was still enjoyable for every player in the group. The black course has a terrific layout and is worth booking a round.The staff is very friendly to the patrons and the course even has a ranger to move things along. The driving range offers a bucket of about 45 balls for a cost of five dollars which I think is reasonable. I will play this course again.

Fairhild Wheeler Black Course
Our twosome played the front nine in just under one and a half hours. The pace of play was great and course conditions were a little wet due to rain. The black course layout is terrific and I would recommend playing it. The rain got heavier on the back nine so we decided to only play three holes on the back. However, my partner and I were both satisfied with our round and we would play here again.The staff is awesome and pleasant. The restaurant has great food too. I promise you will enjoy your experience at the Wheel. There is even a driving range with $5 cost for 45 balls to warmup before round.

Fairchild Wheeler Black Course
Our foursome teed off at noon and completed the round in three and a half hours. The course has a terrific layout and the greens were recently airified but still rolled decent.I have been playing golf for 50 years and this was a great venue and at a great price.

Very Friendly Staff
Overall, the course is quite wet (lot of rain this past week) so conditions were as would be expected but I was very impressed with the friendliness from all staff. Would definitely play there again

My Mistake
Under great weather conditions this is a great course, have played many times. Went on Saturday due to time element and only lasted 5 holes. The entire course was frozen and the greens were pure ice with most flags frozen in.
I should have gone to my regular winter course down in the Bronx, Van Cortlandt . Wheeler should not even have been opened. If you want to play this course DO NOT go till spring, you WILL regret it.
