Fairchild Wheeler Black Course
Our foursome teed off at noon and completed the round in three and a half hours. The course has a terrific layout and the greens were recently airified but still rolled decent.I have been playing golf for 50 years and this was a great venue and at a great price.

Very Friendly Staff
Overall, the course is quite wet (lot of rain this past week) so conditions were as would be expected but I was very impressed with the friendliness from all staff. Would definitely play there again

My Mistake
Under great weather conditions this is a great course, have played many times. Went on Saturday due to time element and only lasted 5 holes. The entire course was frozen and the greens were pure ice with most flags frozen in.
I should have gone to my regular winter course down in the Bronx, Van Cortlandt . Wheeler should not even have been opened. If you want to play this course DO NOT go till spring, you WILL regret it.

FALL BALL
Before the leaves all start to fall get out to play the Black. I have played the Red over the last month and it is not in good shape, but the black is in great shape. Maybe because of leas people playing I don't know for sure but if you wat a nice round go out and play this course. note; hole 14 is closed till next may for reconstruction, they did a really nice job but it takes time to set
Terrible greens
I've played here often and the greens are terrible! Impossible to make a straight putt. the ball just bounces along.
Slow greens
Course is nice but the greens a very slow, looked like they had not been cut for days
Terrible greens
Only 4-5 greens had been rolled leaving the rest almost impossible to putt
A day on the Black
I have played this course many times over the years, the biggest negative is they don't press the greens so putting is very slow, and the tee boxes are almost always in bad condition mainly due to not watering and over seeding them. if they ever took care of this course they would have a gem
Great place for a challenging round of golf!
Great shape, staff is wonderful, pace of play was great , 3 1/2 hour round of golf this time of the year is great.
Fairchild Wheeler Black in great condition.
Always challenging with long par 4s but forgiving to hackers like myself.

Great course. The entire staff were phenomenal and professional. Food was excellent and the course was perfect. We will be back for sure. Loved it
Good Value
Have played here a few times. Course is in great shape, rebuilding green on 14 with temporary pin in fairway for play. We'll play here again
Course in good condition, pace of play excellent no waiting in fairways, some waiting on tees of par 3"s
