course is in very good shape. good bar and food. polite and friendly pro shop staff.

Very slow front nine but moved ahead of the slow foursome on back. For this time of year, course in good condition. Only complaint is cart died twice--first time on 10th, we got new cart; second time finishing 18th had to push cart up hill (pretty tough on this female senior). Hope to play there again.

golf in CT in December...what's not to like...best present I received this year.

Enjoy playing F-W Black. Red is for practice or if playing with newbies, juniors, or the walkers. Town started putting some money into the Black last year, hopefully this will continue. Greens were above average. Pace of play was quick.

Nice local course and in very good condition. Greens were great for this time of year and all the play, kudos to grounds maintenance staff.

Would definitely recommend. If you are average player & consistent keeping in fairway this is manageable course.

Well maintained throughout. Greens true and smooth. Full 19th hole amenities. Pretty hilly so tough walk but many do walk. Staff great. Will be returning often.

great pace of play for weekend at a muni. staff very friendly and close to hoighway for getting and leaving course. highly recommend as good challenge for all levels and tees.

We are visiting from the west coast and we enjoyed our round here very much. The course is beautiful and was in good condition. The greens rolled very well and were neither slow nor excessively fast. The staff at the course could not be any nicer or more helpful. We would play gain.

This course has so much potential to be amazing. The greens are some of the slowest I’ve ever played and not maintained very well. I usually play at a private course but wanted to give it a shot this weekend. The bunkers have new sand but they are obviously not maintained. The tee boxes are patchy from the sun and uneven. I wouldn’t recoccmend playing here if you are a serious golfer.

Great course to play. There were a few times when local college students or other residents suddenly appear out of no where in the middle of your round ahead of you. They must skip around a lot. Was difficult to try to finish before dark.

I've played course 1/2 dozen times & on each occasion, the traps are worse than moguls on ski slopes...just horrible. Rest of course is nice & well manicured, but PLEASE, get people to rake!

Have played this course for years and watched it improve but lately, it's gone the other way. Bunkers are never raked and overflowing with sand, fairways are less than acceptable, and yesterday, some random dude showed up on the fairways hitting golf balls between groupings (unbelievable!). I later learned when I complained that he is a regular visitor and the golf club doesn't do anything about him because he is the buddy of Bridgeport's Mayor. Golfers were yelling at him to get off the fairway and he would wave and continue to take his random shots across the fairway. We had to skip a hole because he would not move. This course has become a mediocre mom and pop shop catering to cronyism. I only recommend it as a last resort.

Haven't played the Black in over 10 years. Overall, course in good shape except for a few tee boxes were in bad shape. Carts have gps, greens consistent and great sand in bunkers, although players do not rake them. Will be back!

Both courses are a great value and challenging. Well groomed public course.
