Great layout
A hidden gem. Difficult holes and fairways. Plays through the hills. Great views

Slow, disorganized
Teed off at noon and didn’t finish until 5:30. Front was slow but there were four groups on the tenth tee at the turn. One stater is responsible for 36 holes and it’s not possible for one ringmaster to control all the animals in this circus. If you can’t get an early tee time, plan on making a day of it.

The black course had some tough holes
There were a few holes with some tough tee shots with dogleg lefts, trees blocking the left or right sides, stuff like that. Some holes had decent elevation changes, and I recall at least one blind shot into a green.
Some of the tee boxes were in terrible shape. They need to move the tee markers around, because there are a few holes where it looks like people continually hack away at the same spots.
The greens were in good shape, but moist after all of the rain. Slow, but with a true roll.
Overall, I like the Wheel since it has two courses to choose from.

The Wheel
Excellent shape, best it’s been in a few years . Weather helping, but putting greens are consistent and have done a great job for a public course. Reasonable. Pricing.
Would recommend for anyone looking to plat in Fairfield county.

The head attendant was rude - tried to make extra money on the golf carts by doubling up people and not obeying COVID rules
