Blackledge Country Club - Gilead Highlands

first time to play this course. Found it to be more than moderately difficult,but not overly challenging.Have to play a precise game on this course.

Well maintained and fun course. Bunkers are strategically placed which require precision shotmaking. Water and marsh areas also come into play on some holes.

We go there 5 r 6 times a season. Wish we lived closer

Had a great time at Gilead Highlands (Blackledge sister course) The only problem was the greens need to be cut. The balls were rolling very slow...Other than that it was in good condition.

Somewhat of a short course and a little tight for those who spray the ball around. Prefer Anderson across the street however I would play again.

Blackledge - Anderson Glen is one of my favorite courses to play in the Hartford area. Highly recommended!

Challenging and receptive. Many opportunities for risk reward shots. The over all conditions were extremely good. This is a wonderful layout. The course plays more challenging than it looks. The fairways are beautifully maintained. The greens were were a real joy a blend of simple and almost impossible to read.. Many appear to have breaks that don't exist. yet some have breaks that a pro would find difficult to detect.. This was one of the best courses I've been on. It provided a delightful Sunday morning. I'll certainly be back.

Greens and fairways were in great shape , rough was left a little long but forced you keep in the fairway. Sadly the 4th hole had a temporary green. Short course when played from the white tees too much driver to gap wedge play... All par 3's played the same distance .... Back nine was more of a challenge.... Both Par 5 on the front were reachable in 2 if hitting a 250+ yard drive.

this was a wonderful course and I will recommend it to my friends.

Challenging contour makes this course really fun! Allows the "average" golfer to use imagination & shape some tee shots, as well as choose to fly balls on greens OR "bump & run them up!"
Plenty of water for those HOT days on the course as well.
If you are in the Hartford, CT area and want to play a good course at a GREAT price, Blackledge is a Must

Everything about this course is above average, the only two negatives about this course is 1) no beverage cart due to a past incident. They can hire someone responsible to serve beverages and if they still have trust issues, they can do just water and Gatorade especially during 100 degree weather. The second negative is the lack of yardage markers and yardage steaks, this can be frustrating and slows down the pace of play. Tee boxes are acceptable. The greens are smooth and on the slow side. I never lost a ball on this course in the 10 times I've played. Overall, great experience, 9/10 for sure.

The course was is great shape and very few people playing in the hot afternoon sun. Back nine was challenging but fair. Would love to play course again or other course sometime soon

you need to play it a few times to get used to it greens were cut higher than I am used to and were very slow

Fine example of New England style golf course. Many doglegs, some links style holes requiring knowledge of landing area yardages(which are well marked).

The course is settled nicely in an obscure town not far from rt 66. I found the course peaceful and very well maintained. We did get slowed down by some sweet older ladies but overall 4 1/2 hours despite a few waits. Staff was very friendly, especially the snack girl!

Course layout is great with some fantastic views. Im a terrible golfer but found myself right around my average score despite some smaller greens.

Overall 5 stars. One of the nicer courses in CT hands down.

The pace of play was pretty slow. A ladies league was ahead of us and was not playing ready golf. The staff was very courteous, friendly, and helpful.

This course was fun and in great shape. Greens were excellent as were fairways. Couldn't beat the price either.... $1 per hole for such a good course!

On 5/31 I played Gilead Highlands at Blackledge. This course is short but challenging. You have to think about what club to hit off the tee on just about every hole; don't just take out the driver on every 4 & 5. The course is maintained very well and the greens are some of the best I've played in Connecticut; quick with breaking putts. I highly recommend this course.

Great course to play. Greens were beautiful. Fairways soft and rough was a challenge but not unfair.
