Glynlea Country Club

Epic place, get some rounds in before it goes fully private!

Florida is booming with new community development again, and Glynlea is part of what will eventually be a 3,000-home development called Wylder. It is also the first golf course designed by PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions veteran Jim Furyk, who has teamed up with experienced architect Mike Beebe to form a new design firm. Glynlea suffers from the same sort of strained routing that afflicts most golf courses associated with real estate developments, but in terms of the execution of 18 holes, Furyk and Beebe acquitted themselves well. The corridors are friendly, water is kept to the periphery in most cases and the greens are good, if not bombastic. Conditioning is excellent right out of the gate at this course that has only been fully open since September, and the other amenities are on point as well.

Not a lot of trees or homes yet. Very well maintained fairways and greens are great. Staff are terrific. Drove 2 hours to play today and I will be back often because it won't be public when they finish building.
