Challenging
This was our second time here because it’s a good value. It still struggles with the drought we had this summer but regardless still like the challenge of it.
Slowest ever
two hours 45 minutes for the front nine starting mid afternoon. didn't get to play back nine at all bc it was still so ridiculously crowded, so we started on front nine again at about 5:20, gave up after replaying holes 1-3. people were super nice but i won't play here again until the vast majority of the earth's population has migrated to another solar system.
Pace was slow, but course otherwise was great. Especially greens!
As a somewhat local CTer to this course (30mins away) I was glad to play it for my first time. The greens were on the slow side, but demanding in terms of the size and undulation. They were also in great shape. Some tight tee shots and a fair amount of water on the course, was also scenic. I’d go back. Felt a little pricy, pro shop staff wasn’t too friendly and the range balls aren’t included so that’s another $7.
Nice course
Course is in great condition. Very disappointed to see two employees behind bar and food service not wearing masks. They were on their chins. Food service slow and you can't call ahead and order on the turn.
Long Island golfer
I’m from Long Island and I was looking for a coarse that other family members & myself could meet & play a round of golf. Nice coarse, we had a great day
Fun, friendly and tricky course
Pace of play for a Saturday afternoon was pretty good. Course conditions also pretty good.
I booked on Golf Now app so I got nice last minute deal. Played as a single with 3 young men (I’m 54). I give the starter credit for “reading the room” and moving me up with them vs. the threesome I was supposed to be with on paper.
Not an easy course. Many fairways are blind, narrow or generally unforgiving. Most greens were small or undulating or otherwise tricky. Also, this time of year and how dry it was today, saw a lot approach/chip shots roll off back of green.
Tashua Knolls is my home course. I would say this is tougher but friendlier. Can’t wait to play it again now I know the layout better.
Sharp!
For a public course the greens are in superb shape! Especially for end of season. Always a good time. Pro shop always friendly.
Where is the Ranger?
Another 5 hour round! The group in front of us took a break for lunch at the turn and came back in and did not let us play through as they chowed down as we came to #10. They then played “scramble” golf in pairs. Unbelievable! Please have your Rangers out on the course maintaining pace of play and making it enjoyable for everyone who plays your course. Right now, I can’t recommend that anyone play your course and for me, I’ll only play there as a last resort.
WARNING.
If you’re looking to spend 5 hours of your day, be my guest. The course isn’t bad, vary narrow, not in the greatest shape. If you enjoy waiting 10+ mins at each tee box enjoy!
Great Day
Enjoyed the track and conditions great. Had lunch after and enjoyed burgers. Only wish putting area larger.
Glad I played with someone familiar with the course
It was an hour trip for me from Westchester but I figured I would try a new course. When I got there I checked in and since I was a single was told I could go out with any twosome that was teeing off. I teed off with 2 others, one first timer and a local who knew the course.. I found the layout challenging but w/o GPS, had it not been for our local, we’d have been lost. Traps were in great shape but on the back 9, some of the tee boxes and greens were rough and recently aerated. Finished in 3:30..I’ll try it again but only thru Golf Now!
