3rd: par-4, 430. This Cape design tempts you to take the shortest route down the fairway toward the green (on left). Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

7th, par-3, 220. A well-guarded and contoured green; a pleasant backdrop. Seen here from its left flank. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

8th: par-4, 352. Green complex at this short and steeply downhill hole--made perilous by a pond. Eagle potential, however. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

The par-4 14th, 447. Long, beautiful, and possibly deadly. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

Sixteen is another excellent, long par-4 concluding on this green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

18th, par-5 of 588. The signature hole? I’ll go for that. Great bunkering from Mungeam. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

CT Nat. in early Oct.
Overall the course was in good condition....but there was lots of work being done. Greens were punched awhile ago still quite sandy. They rolled fairly true but it is always hard to figure how the sand will impact the putt. They were also punching the fairways on this day.
Great course, just aerated.
This course is always in good shape. They recently aerated, greens are bumpy, sandy, and slower.
The course overall is a good track ,a must play if you like a good challenge.
First round of the year here
Everyone raves about this course. I don’ see it, but I guess it can’t be everyone else. Late season golf is always a crapshoo, but the conditions were good - an that includes the fact that the greens were aerated in the past week. The fescue that usually plagues this course was cut down, which made me happy. Tee boxes were very good, with the exception of the pr 3s.
We couldn’;t go into the clubhouse, but there’s a nice porch out front. I think the restaurant was open, but there was no table service.
We got a great deal through Golfnow, which is the only reason I’d play it, since it doesn’t fit my eye. But everyone else loves it. Give it a shot.
Greens are super fast and challenging
great fall day of golf, this track is worth a road trip !!
Tough greens
Course In great shape, plenty of room tee to greens, get you putting in order, fast.
Perfect
The course is in the great shape. Greens are firm and fast. Scenery is always fantastic during Fall season.
Great value for your money!
Love this track, conditions where fantastic, greens are fast and overall a great experience. This course will certainly challenge your game.
CT NATIONAL
Course is in fine shape, especially the greens. I was surprised the fairways were not dried out. The rough is down except around greens - where it should be. A tough course overall.
Great 18 @ CTN
15 HC. Live 20 mins away and need to come here more especially earlier in the year.
The Good -
I was able to see the parallels in conditions in early June vs. Late September and they are impressively similar. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were perfect. Cart girl on a Thursday is a plus. Great putting greens/driving range. Updated carts.
The Bad(?) -
Greens are very glassy, lots of elevation changes and challenging pin placements. OK with me but with any beginner/novice you will struggle mightily around the green. Normal wear and tear off of the fairways and in certain places but no real complaints.
No ugly. Great time at CTN. Will be back !
Superfast Greens!
Great turf condition! Well maintained. Defense of the course is the fast, undulating greens! Plenty of opportunities to three putt after a GIR!
Great golf course
Great conditions considering there is a drought. Great, difficult greens.
Solid course
The course was in very good shape for the terrible and rough year that we had weather wise in Connecticut. The greens were in excellent shape and some of the tee boxes were a little bit beat up, but you can see that they had just refilled them and reseeded them so they're definitely making an effort and those should be back within a few weeks. Found a great deal on golfnow.com. Pace of play was surprisingly slow for a Friday afternoon. 5 hours plus, didn't see one ranger and we finished in the dark and there was still 4 groups behind us who definitely didn't finish. I like this course because the fairways are fairly wide and then there's a little bit of room in the rough usually before you get in too much trouble so you can usually find your tee shots, and there is a good amount of bunkering around the green, and some of the greens are a little bit tough but none are unfair. It is a solid course I try to play there every year when I get a chance.
