Golfer Reviews
Great value course.
The course was in excellent shape. Well groomed, greens fast and firm. Bit on the short side but the tight fairways and small fast, firm greens make the course challenging.
If I have a gripe, it is the fairways are way too tight. The average golfer would have more fun if they don’t have to hit out of the rough so often. The size and undulations of the greens make the course challenging enough.
Nice afternoon round
My son and I played 18. We were paired with a super nice couple. Pace of play was good, we only waited for the group in front of us on a few holes, very fair in my opinion for a Sunday afternoon. There was a ranger on patrol as well. The course is in very good shape, although with as much rain as we have gotten this spring including the right before some fairways were wet and some rough, especially green side was quite lush. It was cart path only due to the wetness.
The layout grows more challenging and ends with some very challenging holes that include blind dog legs, blind uphill tee shots, water, stonewalls and undulating greens.
I totally love Southington, Country, Club outstanding in every way
I totally enjoy playing Southington, Country, Club. It’s one of my favorites, I live in Southbury, Connecticut and drive 30 minutes and it’s worth every mile, thank you Southington, Country, Club and staff you guys are the best. Yours truly Duke.
Very well maintained
18 holes squeezed into a small area. Every hole sits right on top of the next hole. Definitely very well maintained all around. Beautiful scenery, tight fairways, small table top fast greens make it extremely hard to score low. Though understandable we played on a day that was cart paths only which made it less enjoyable and took longer than normal to finish the round. Overall a nice course but would only visit once or twice a year if that.
Enjoyable
Course was in great shape, greens were phenomenal for this early in the season.
Looking forward to playing this course in the summer
The course itself is nice. Unfortunately we played after several days of spring rain earlier in the week. I lost two balls that plugged somewhere in the fairway on a couple holes. I was able to find the plugged ball on three more holes. The greens were in good shape and were fast! The pin placements left a little to be desired given the wet conditions of the fairways they seemed a little unfair. I am looking forward to playing this course when the conditions are dry as it looks like a fun course to play! They restaurant and bar were very nice and the food we had was excellent! The pro shop is small but the staff was very friendly and accommodating. All in all we had a great time.
Okay Course
Course was very wet from rain the day before. Staff said the course does not drain well.
Every time in the past, when I booked a hot deal I received my own cart. Not today, there were enough carts but had to share.
Course was muddy wet and windy
The course was very very wet
Was cart path only and when you walked to your ball your feet sunk in the grass the suction would almost take off your shoes and usually had to move your ball to higher ground
so you weren't standing in water
Southington mid Nov
Course was well maintained as far as leaves and the greens were in excellent shape. Perfect bonus day of golf this late in the season.
