Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane is situated in the quiet town of Woodbridge, just 20 minutes from New Haven. Formerly known as Oak Lane County Club, the course was both renamed and renovated when it was acquired by the management team at The Tradition Golf Club at Wallingford. Many of the holes were updated but the golf course retained its challenging but playable nature. Though the course is player friendly enough to appeal to players of all skill levels, there are still several challenges in store. Numerous strategically placed bunkers lurk along the greens and towering trees also frame most of the holes. The holes are mostly straightforward with a few tricky doglegs to keep you on your toes. You'll also be confronted with the occasional water hole. Both your accuracy and short-game skills will be tested at Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane.

greens are excellent and fast , challenging layout with water
The staff was very friendly, bag boy met my car, told me exactly where to go. Nobody rushed you, The course was in overall great condition and pace of play was perfect. Highly recommended.
Great value on golf now @ 25$
Great value and great condition. Would play again and look forward to doing so.greens a little slow due to rain but overall a great day for 25$

This course play well for the average golfer
The Staff are great and friendly. Course is in great shape.
The fairways are challenging. They are open fairways for the average golfer. But have the trouble spots if ur off on a shot.
All in all it is a great course.
Enjoy playing here
Former private club. Nice greens, grass driving range, very good fairways and tees. Don't like the bunker sand. Tee marker colors don't match up with scorecard. Good restaurant in the newly renovated clubhouse.
Good course, wondering how long it will stay that way!!!
Course was private until late 2011, went and played on a Friday in June last year and already noticed conditions were not Country Club material also pace of play was atrocious at 4.5 hrs for 14 holes (I walked in after that). This time around course was in pretty good shape for early in the year and the 4 of us finished in 4.5 hrs. But the course was empty, I shudder to think how long it will take during peak times. I enjoy the course, it's challenging, will play there again, just hope the conditions continue to improve and not decline for the rest of the year and beyond
Greens need work
Tee boxes and fairways were maintained well. Greens were sandy and slow. Sand in bunkers resembles kitty litter more that sand. Overall I like the course and recommend it. Just wish the greens were in better shape
Great layout.... challenging
Loved the course but it was really cold and windy and the greens had been aerated. Would definitely play this course again.
We payed early April, but was in great shape for that early. Traffic noise on some holes only downfall
liked it alot, really nice course, played early in the year, I'm sure the summer it would be excellent, a lot of groundskeeping going on already
Great price. maintenance needs to be more aggressive picking up debris from storm damage
Price was great. Staff was fine. Course needs maintenance for spring cleanup. remove the fallen branches. nice layout, a good walk.
Greens were oustanding for this time of the year.
The course was in good shape with the greens in pristine shape with no ball marks and accepting shots. The weather was OK 60 with 15mph wind. It's been a long time this year waiting for GOLF!
Great for all level of play
Good course well kept. Fun for all levels. Some easy holes, some more thought out!
Course has great challenges
It all starts on hole #1. A challenging par 5 that can start your round with a bang or scratch your head in what happened? Hole number 1 with a creek dog leg left and going up hill. Great challenge to start the round.
Golfing in December in CT. Lovin every shot...
18 holes of golf with a cart for $18.00. Can't beat it! Oak Lane was in good shape considering season. Fairways were fair and greens were rolling. Still a few leaves in spots. Overall, a very pleasant round of golf. No complaints...Thanks Oak Lane-GolfNow
Oak Lane is a classic
I have only been playing Oak Lane since Tradition management took over the formerly private country club post-bankruptcy. They have done a fantastic job of getting the course back to good conditions and the renovations to the clubhouse and restaurant are incredible. I maintain that Tradition of Wallingford and now Oak Lane have the absolute best burgers I have ever tasted anywhere (and this includes across the country as I travel for work). The layout is fun, the golf is good, but the food is amazing.
My new favorite course!
Challenging, it is a nice layout with just enough rough. The crew also did a great job keeping leaves out of play.

good mix of long and short par 4's, holes 1 and 10 are monsters - pretty tough start to both nines
1st 3 holes are tough, then there are a few birdie opportunities, 9 requires a big drive to make the corner, 10 is brutal, back nine is a bit more open than the front. Staff is very friendly, food is good, nice bar. if you want football after the round, the course doesn't get FOX network, not sure why. Great track and tons of golf for the price.
Friendly, helpful staff
Being fall fairways were leaf free for the most part. The day was windy so the leaves would gather in the thick rough. From check -in to the "19th hole" from starter to on course refreshments you couldn't ask for a more pleasant experience. Also the courtesy shown by the course maintenance workers while we were playing and putting on the greens. A very classy operation.
It's like a private club.
From the time you pull up to til the time you pull away all the employees are helpfull and glad to see you. I've played here 3x and each time I was greeted like I was a valuable member of a private club. The grounds are pretty and as well maintained as a private club. The restaurant food is very good and well priced; the wait staff and bartenders are friendly and work hard.
