Winter condition not good
Golfnow said that there was 1 temporary green, but went and played to see greens were aerated and 4-5 temp tee boxes. Would not have played it today if I knew all this. 280 yd par 4, 110 yd par 3 was a bit much.
Fantastically maintained course with huge greens
unfortunately it was aerated so putting was impossible. There was a temporary hole on 5 in the middle of a fairway. It was wet so range was closed....but hey it's the middle of December and was just happy to be out in great 65 degree weather
Normally this is a beautiful course with huge greens. Make sure you take enough club. it's well maintained and is good layout (just get rid of 15). Some of the better greens around the area, so don' t get above the hole during normal season.
Great post round bar and restaurant.
A Lion in Winter
For a round in December in Delaware, the weather was as good as it could get in the low 60s with light winds. So any round of golf is a bonus. The course was in as good shape as one could expect although the green aeration definitely did not provide the full 5-star experience Baywood can give golfers, but that did make them easier to gauge on speed although breaks were greatly reduced, I imagine. And tie boxes were closed with only White & Green stakes, which made the course play generally longer for someone like me who prefers the hybrid white/gold.
But the layout is stunning as is the bunkering and placement of other hazards. All holes are fair and right in front of you, and I look forward to playing it in the summer, even if it costs a lot more.
Amazing
An absolutely amazing course. I’m a beginning golfer and felt like I was on the PGA tour. Would highly recommend to anyone.
The cart was not good
We love Baywood but there were lots of divots and our cart practically died
This course has beautiful amenities.
I had a great time. I started out a bit late and we were a bit slow so only completed 16 holes due to darkness this late in the season.
First Time On Course
Great course. Perfect conditions and friendly staff. One of the nicest courses out there.
Augusta of the North!
They have to spend a million dollars in flowers alone! This was an amazing experience and would highly recommend it for someone traveling to the area. Only negative: be ready for a 5hr round. People seek it out so there is a ton of traffic but outside of that you have to visit!
A great golf experience.
Played this course a few times before and it was just as beautiful this time as it was the previous times. Not only is the course conditions top of the line, but the flowers on the bridges are a sight to behold, not to mention the sweet smell. This course is a must play for all people that love golf.
Great place to play
First time playing this course. We played it from the tips and it was challenging with great views. There are two distinct nines on this course. The Woods is the front nine and has narrow fairways and great rolling greens. You need to hit good tee shots in order to score. The back nine is the Bay nine with plenty of water to cost you strokes. The course is very appealing to eye and each hole is enjoyable. For a $100 it's probably not a course you play everyday, but well the worth money as a treat!
The place is immaculate
We tee’d off at 8:10a. Perfect September weather. Range balls included. They threw a couple bottles of water in the carts for us. True greens, sandy bunkers, 3” rough....perfect. We played the black tees, not quite the tips. Plenty of bathrooms, beverage cart made it around 3 times. The course is so nice, you actually want to fill your divots. We paid $100 pp on golfnow, and were already tossing around the idea of coming back, for stay and play, at the turn. Definitely recommend!
