Hooper's Landing Golf Course

About
Hooper's Landing Golf Course (formerly known as "Seaford Golf & Country Club") sprawls across more than 200 acres of gently rolling terrain. Constructed in 1949, the course has a classic design that is accessible for players of all skill levels. There are some tight holes that will make you think twice before pulling out the driver but they are nicely balanced by some wide-open holes where you can grip it and rip it. Though the golf course is relatively short at 6,725 yards from the back tees, the small, well bunkered greens offer plenty of challenges. The approaches to the greens demand accuracy, which will be further tested by water hazards and trees. Hooper's Landing Golf Course begins with a tricky dogleg right, a par 4 with a green that is not only heavily guarded by bunkers but it also sits above the fairway.

Inconsistent!
The coarse layout is nice..But the Rough is Way!!!! to inconsistent,There must be 4 different types of rough grasses and its so darn hard to get a feel of how hard or soft to swing,They need to keep the grasses and rough cut on a consistent basis. The greens were really!! fast also..just barely tap it and goes 6 feet buy if you miss, wow,I couldn't get the feel at all
Great condition
I arrived right at my tee time and hurried to the first tee where I joined three gentlemen who are members. I enjoyed their company and they put up with my Bad round of golf. The course is in great condition. Not much of a snack bar, but I didn't go there to eat. I will return and play better.
Nothing
First time playing this course. It's packed into an older residential community - but that's not really an issue. I hate those courses where you're right up on someones backyard if you miss the fairway (I miss a lot of fairways.) This course isn't like that - so thats a plus .It is laid out in an odd manner. 1-4 and 14-18 are on one side of a busy road, and 5-13 are on the other. Conditions were ok. Greens were a bit slower than I'm used to, but not the worst. Fairways had just been cut and there were a lot of clippings around, which really slowed the roll out down (on those rare occasions when I hit the fairway) All in all, a mediocre, forgettable course. The staff is excellent though and I saw the bev cart 4 times on a very hot Saturday.
Great course for money
Really enjoyed this course. Front side with trees makes for good tee shots. Back side hilly but enjoyable. Greens excellent, rolled true and not overly sloped. Makes for a great round of golf.
Hoppers Golf Course
I would highly recommend this course to anyone, of any age, and of any play skill level. It is a fun and challenging course, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the cart gal always seems to be right there when you need something.
the course was in great condition
took my dad for fathers day and he really enjoyed himself thanks
Great value
Great value for money. Staff was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. I didn't give it a five because I don't think it's the best course to play but I wouldn't hesitate to play this course over many because the best courses cost a lot more.
Local Course
This is the closest course to me but even if not I still prefer it over other courses in the area, the original nine is a woodland course with lots of trees on both sides of the fairway, the nine they added on later is more wide open and marshy...it's a great course that's not to difficult and has tons of character
Nice Track
Nice course close to my home. Very nice staff and head pro. Good layout, well maintained with nice
greens that rolled well. First hole kind of funky with
a mound obscuring view of green, but other than that
a good track.
Ronref
Interesting course to play with lots of individual challenges.
Local knowledge
Nice course quick greens but several holes where knowing the course would be very helpful.
Great Course for the Price
Hoopers has come a long way from the first time I played it a couple of years ago. And with the great deals I get on Golfnow, I am there at least 3-4 times a month!!!!! The customer service has always been excellent. And the course conditions have been good as well. Plus, only about 25 minutes from my house. Will definitely keep coming back.
Fun course
I've played this course many times and it is currently in the best condition I've ever seen it. It's a fun, challenging course, and it's usually not too crowded. Pace of play is almost never an issue.
Awesome fellow golfers
I rode for 18 holes as a single. Played the first 14 holes in a little over an hour. I caught up to a threesome and 2 foursomes. They all suggested I play thru. Never played on a friendlier course. Completed the round in 2hr15m. My fastest round ever,
Great Course
Play this course frequently and it is always in great condition. Tee boxes, fairways and greens always look great.
Great
Great time , great pace, conditions great, value great, we had a good time
Peak summer condition
Wish they did not have to aerate because the greens are in very good condition. Not extremely fast but quick and the ball rolls unobstructed to the hole. If you hit it on line you get good results. Fairways are also in very good condition. Played mid week with not many players on the course so I was able to finish in a little over 3 hours.
Best value I've EVER SEEN !!!!!!
I played this course for the first time Saturday 8-23-14 . I had heard some negative things about it but wanted to see for myself. To my surprise this course was AWESOME !!!!! The maintenance and upkeep of the course was EXCELLENT , the staff was friendly and the value was unbeatable !!!! I played staurday and was back Sunday for another round !!!!! Hoopers landing is now my home course !!!!!
this is a very challenging course in great condition
Enjoy playing this course. it's in great condition and well maintained. Has a friendly staff and these people welcome your play
Not your average muni...
We were pleasantly surprised by the course. Fairways were good, rough was reasonable and the greens were perfect! The layout is a little odd with some long travel times from the original part of the course to the new section, but it's well worth the small inconvenience. Where the original part (it's not split where the old is the front nine and the new is the back) is somewhat tight and may make you think twice before pulling the driver out (although it didn't stop me since I'm used to playing second shots around tree's) the new section is wide open and just very nicely laid out. The course makes up for being somewhat short by being very well bunkered around the greens (with real sand in the traps - not something I see often in municipal courses), forcing accurate approach shots. The greens are relatively small but very soft and receptive. They role true and reward the player who can control their speed on the green
The staff at the course was very friendly and helpful - even offering a little advice before we started. Overall a very pleasant day and a nice course
This is going to be our "go to" course when we're visiting Delaware
