About
Garrisons Lake Golf Club, nine miles north of Dover, is a historic play centrally located to all parts of Delaware. The course is nature friendly: with tree-lined fairways and large, well bunkered greens throughout. The par-72, 7,060-yard course was recently renovated and improved, and players of all abilities will be confronted with a fair challenge. Not that there aren’t hurdles. Garrisons Lake is book-ended by two long plays: The 535-yard, par-5 first features out of bounds along the left side, and the 536-yard 17th features a challenging tee shot with trees on the right side. Garrisons Lake Golf Club also has a bustling practice range, putting green, golf shop and snack bar.

Starter/Ranger
When you golf at GL make it a Priority to get to know Mike the Starter/Ranger. Very friendly but business like. Finally a guy that will keep the pace of play moving with a great personality. Great job Mike and it’s always a pleasure to talk to you . I give Mike a 5 Star Rating!!! Oh and FIX YOUR BALL MARKS PEOPLE + 1 More…
Great Local Course
Love the range, carts, and layout of the land with no houses within play, staff is always friendly and peers are also always friendly
fall like
greens rebounded nicely from aeration and heavy sanding. STILL no sand in almost every trap. More like redi-mix dry w/ medium aggregate (stones). Maybe fix that??!!
Aerated
There was no indication that the greens were recently aerated and sand all over the greens. The bunkers need some work, its not sand!
Friday Play
Course was in good shape. Tees were good. Fairways were very nice. Greens were ok considering they were just aerated but not told that. Pace of play was pitiful. We teed off at 3:10 behind a foursome that we waited for most of the time then they must have played through a group between 9 green and 10 tee. We were then behind an older foursome who did not let us( a twosome) play through. Waited on tees and fairways every hole.
Nice Older Course
State owned/maintained course tucked in a quiet residential neighborhood in Smyrna, Delaware. Off course facilities no frills; pro shop is in a trailer. But the course is nice and reasonably maintained. Water hazards on a few holes and sand traps. Wooded. I play here a few times each year with the Maryland Seniors group (MISGA) but not In this instance. This time I played in a foursome on a Friday morning with several groups of regulars in front and behind. Pace was a little faster than usual.
Good Value Great Pace
I can typically always get a tee time I play solo after work on weekdays a lot finish 9 in about an hour ppl in front will usually ask if I want to play through nice course for the price right by my house , no clubhouse really no food no beer cart but it’s a great place to work on your game if you live in the area
Great place to play
I have been playing this course for years. The course was in great shape. For a nice Saturday afternoon there was not a lot of players. We only played 9 but we where done in 90 minuets. I will be playing there again.
