Garrisons Lake Golf Club
About
Garrisons Lake Golf Club, nine miles north of Dover, is a historic play centrally located to all parts of Delaware. The course is nature friendly: with tree-lined fairways and large, well bunkered greens throughout. The par-72, 7,060-yard course was recently renovated and improved, and players of all abilities will be confronted with a fair challenge. Not that there aren’t hurdles. Garrisons Lake is book-ended by two long plays: The 535-yard, par-5 first features out of bounds along the left side, and the 536-yard 17th features a challenging tee shot with trees on the right side. Garrisons Lake Golf Club also has a bustling practice range, putting green, golf shop and snack bar.

Bermuda grass in North?
I guess it's cheaper to maintain, but already going dormant. I bet it's great in the hot months. I just don't care for Bermuda because I dig my irons and you need to pick the ball on it. Overall, I've always loved the bones of the course. Hoping Troon comes in and puts some $$$ into this classic track.
First time in a long time
Well worth the drive south from Wilmington. What a gem. Tee boxes, fairways and greens (the best I’ve played on this year) were immaculate. Bunkers are 90% resanded. Nice range. Cart paths are the only small issue.
Great value and 4-some done in under 4 hours on a Friday morning. Nice.
Will be back frequently now I know.
Slow on back 9
Overall condition of course is quite good. Several bunkers need attention or are under repair. #10 & 12 fairways are still not on play - hopefully this will be remedied soon. Pace of play on back 9 was extremely slow this is in part due to 10 & 11 currently playing as par 3s. Also was cart path only the day we played. It got so slow that we picked up our balls after our 2nd shots on #12 and jumped back over and played the front 9 again.
Hot day
Course continues to show improvement. Greens in excellent condition. Several bunkers being worked on. Hopefully #19 & 12 fairways will b completely playable soon. Was very hot day but there is a lot of shade on course and nice breeze blowing.
Getting Better
Played this course over a month ago - noticeable improvements. Hopefully #10 & 12 fairways will b playable soon. Keep up the good work!!
Getting better
Played this vourse a couple of months ago - condition of course has improved dramatically. #10 fairway was under repair - hole played as a par 3. Hopefully this will b remedied shortly. General comment that applies to a lot of public courses - sand bunkers have to b extremely expensive to maintain in good condition. I don’t understand why more courses don’t use “grass” bunkers. Leave the grass a very deep tough - will play as challenging as a sand bunker w/ considerably less maintained e coat
Always great
The improvements they are doing will just make this course better. Keep up the great work!
Great course conditions
Played 7/6
I was anxious to play for the third time this season and was pleasantly surprised with the good course conditions. Congratulations to the grounds crew. The weather was hot and humid. My son and I played only nine holes but we will be back when the weather breaks.
Room for improvement
Holes 1-6 were in pretty rough shape -especially tee boxes and fairways. Holes 6-9 considerably better. Back 9 very good shape except for some bunkers being repaired. Got stuck behind a foursome that could hit it 50 yds off the tee yet they were playing the whites? Didn’t let us through - we were a 2-some. Do golfers just not know golf etiquette or just being obnoxious? Not a bad value for the price but other options available at the same price. Doubt I will play here again until improvements are made to front 9
