About
River Pointe Golf Club in Albany is situated along both the scenic Flint River and Lake Chehaw. It's no surprise that water has a prominent role on the course. It comes into play on 14 holes on this challenging 18-hole layout, which is considered one of the area's best. The course is also home to an abundance of wildlife that includes several different bird species, deer, fox, otters, and even alligators. The front nine starts off gently with a more traditional design but it's the back nine, which weaves through beautiful wetlands, that will test your accuracy. River Pointe Golf Club's signature hole is the par-5 14th. This lengthy hole has water all along the left side and in front of the green, which slopes from back to front. A perfectly placed ball will be rewarded with a chance for a birdie.

Challenging course
Great condition and challenging holes require a variety of shots
River Pointe
This course is always in very good condition and is very challenging from the tips. Water/marsh is in play on every hole on the back 9 from the tips. It is one of the most demanding courses around.
Fun day on a challenging course
This was my second time playing River Point. The first time was the summer of last year and the course was not in the best of condition. I understand they are under newer management so i gave them another try. Glad I did! The course is in excellent shape, and the greens were firm and fast. Love playing a course where the ball actually breaks like it should. The pace of play was slower than I like, but that is due to the tight and narrow fairways and the abundance of water on the back nine. (People need to just count their loss and move on - respect the game and the others behind you). I will definitely be back again and again.
fun, challenging golf
Course played well...greens in pretty good shape. Fairways were decent, but first cut of rough is a little tacky.
Tough But Fair
Course is very tough for beginners. Lot of water and front side bunkers. Greens are tough and FAST. Saturdays are a little crazy if you get in front of the Blitz. HOWEVER, the course is beautiful and very fun to play. It is imperative that you stay in the fairways and if your Driver is iffy, leave it in the bag. I will be playing this one again very soon!!
This course will test you
Challenging. Some pin placements will bite back. I love the course layout and it has great practice areas. The food is great and has very nice service. Will definately be back soon.
clean fairways, undulating greens
Overall nice facility. Don't let your GPS tell you how to get there. Friendly staff, rolling fairways, water and bunker placement make you watch ball placement. Narrow greens but fast.
Difficult
As a new player I found the course to be difficult, I for one enjoy that about this course. I would recommend it to anyone beginner and up if you are up for a challenge.

River Point round
Overall good experience. Course restrooms left a little to be desired. Staff was great! Would definitely recommend the course. A lot of (casual water) due to all of the rain, but other than that, it was in good shape. The greens were consistent. Nice course. I'll be back
Great Course
Great public course with some challenging holes. Pace only is slow due to it getting crowded at times. Overall a fun course to play
Good, solid public golf course
I've played this course before without using golfnow. This course was in good shape for the late winter / early spring. The greens were in good shape and rolled true which is the most important part of the golf course. No complaints. Well worth the money and had a good time.
