West at White Pines Golf Course
About
Situated just 30 minutes from downtown Chicago, White Pines Golf Club has been a popular spot for both locals and visitors. The club offers two courses, the East and the West. The West Course is longer than the East by 400 yards and considered slightly more challenging. The layout is relatively tight and there is an abundance of trees, which means you'll need to be accurate to do well. The greens are large and challenging with difficult-to-read breaks. There is also minimal, but strategic bunkering along the greensides. The fairways provide plenty of variety with some that are narrow and heavily tree-lined and others that are wide with no trees in sight. The golf course has several challenging holes but it's forgiving enough for beginners to approach with confidence.

White Pines East Course
Fun course, played quickly even on a Sunday. Fairway grass was a little thin here and there, but all the greens were in great shape. Nice staff. Will definitely go back again
Challenging and well kept
I REALLY like this course and wish I could afford to play it WAY more often. VERY nicely maintained with CHALLENGING, but not impossible, greens. Faster than I'm used to, but I got the hang of it by the 6th hole. The carts are equipped with the GPS display, which is fantastic. But they have VERY low roofs (and I am only 5'6"!) so watch your head. I only smacked my head twice, but the second time saved me a trip to the chiropractor. It cracked my neck like knuckles. But I dig this course. Can't wait to try the West Course!
White Pines / East course.
Course was in great shape, pace of play was good. Tom the starter was friendly and courteous. Melissa.on The beverage cart was also friendly and courteous.
early in the season
The coarse fairways and greens were decent for the amount of rain we had. Other parts of the coarse were not quite ready. Only one or two ball washer, not water. Only once we seen a beverage cart. When I got to the 1st tee, then I found out they were an hour behind.. Cart path only and they didn't catch up until almost 3 in the afternoon.

Storms hit in the morning causing a washout. I went the course but my partner could not get pass an underpass.

Conditions
I love this golf course and staff. Went out with the guys yesterday an was really disappointed in the quality of the course and how bad of shape it's gotten too. Puddles in a bunch of holes. Greens were in god awful shape. Course needs lots of love. I'll give it a few months before I go back. Hopefully things will be better.
Good golf
I enjoy white pines. Have played both east and west this season multiple times. They are still charging offseason rates which makes it a great deal. Still in offseason shape. Bunkers could use some work. No water or bathroom access throughout the course. 17th tee box on East course still under repair. Pace of play really depends on the group in front of you. Not the longest course so waiting is expected on some shots. Excited to see how it shapes up the rest of the season.
