West at White Pines Golf Course
About
Situated just 30 minutes from downtown Chicago, White Pines Golf Club has been a popular spot for both locals and visitors. The club offers two courses, the East and the West. The West Course is longer than the East by 400 yards and considered slightly more challenging. The layout is relatively tight and there is an abundance of trees, which means you'll need to be accurate to do well. The greens are large and challenging with difficult-to-read breaks. There is also minimal, but strategic bunkering along the greensides. The fairways provide plenty of variety with some that are narrow and heavily tree-lined and others that are wide with no trees in sight. The golf course has several challenging holes but it's forgiving enough for beginners to approach with confidence.

In my opinion, this facility is worth the price. We played 27. 18 on the east course & 9 on the west. Both courses are in very good condition considering the current drought conditions. Pace of play was on point. I have played here quite a few times within the past year & I’ve always enjoyed my time at this course.
Great value
The course is always kept up very well, and for the way that I play it's challenging enough for me.
White Pines
Course in good shape. Hard fairways and greens due to drought. Minor backups. Played 18 in four hours fifteen minutes.
White Pine, West Course, Wednesday
Not many folks out on a hot humid day. Still haven't played the East Course.
Always a pleasure
One of my favorite courses. Friendly and accommodating staff. Nice front 9 to warm up on with more variety on the back 9. Nice carts, sturdy push carts. And great hot dogs!
Decent for the money
All in all a good experience. Course was is very good shape except for the sand traps. Hard as a rock, very little sand.
Great Local Course
This is a great local course that will challenge you, at any level. The course and the greens were in good condition given the the amount of play. My only complaint would be the Bunkers, they are hard pan and have very little sand.
