Situated just 30 minutes from downtown Chicago, White Pines Golf Club has been a popular spot for both locals and visitors. The club offers two courses, the East and the West. The West Course is longer than the East by 400 yards and considered slightly more challenging. The layout is relatively tight and there is an abundance of trees, which means you'll need to be accurate to do well. The greens are large and challenging with difficult-to-read breaks. There is also minimal, but strategic bunkering along the greensides. The fairways provide plenty of variety with some that are narrow and heavily tree-lined and others that are wide with no trees in sight. The golf course has several challenging holes but it's forgiving enough for beginners to approach with confidence.

Staff was very rude. Ruined my day before it started
Slow Play
Unfortunately, there was a company golf outing during my round and it had a disastrous impact on pace of play. Had a number of groups on this company outing with 5 or 6 guys teeing off. Not good. The course is in ok shape and the staff is very good. GPS in the carts works well.
Quality Round
Best deal in Chicagoland. Course is in excellent shape. Greens rolling perfect.
Standing water everywhere
The course had standing water everywhere even though it hadn’t rained for 3 days. There was water in the bunkers making the bunkers unplayable. Never have I seen a course not pump standing water out of the bunkers.
Probably not Worth it
The pro shop is always a nightmare. Computers seem to never work, they’ll generally refuse to check anyone in before 6a even though they sell a 5:55 tee time.
Often times get charged a premium rate only to have them work maintenance on every single hole completely oblivious to anyone golfing. Super frustrating when trying to be first out and play quick and have to wait on every tee box.
Bunkers are generally unplayable, but the rest of the course is actually alright.
Great course
We played the East course and it is in great shape, greens are very friendly and smooth. Super great price at twilight!
Average at best
Nice course for the average golfer but lacks that extra manicuring that makes a course special. Sand traps were full of water and hard pan. No tap beer in the restaurant only cans hello it’s 2024!!!
Worst golf course in illinois
Nothing looks to be maintained. If you dont hit the ball dorectly in the fairway, you will never find it again. They dont cut the grass maintain anythinh and the greens are disgusting.
