Eagle Creek Golf Course

The course layout is quite challenging, featuring narrow fairways and numerous doglegs in both directions. Unlike most Illinois courses, which are relatively flat, this one offers plenty of elevation changes, making club selection and course management more demanding.

The bunkers were unfortunately in poor condition, with very little sand, and the greens were exceptionally slow—probably the slowest greens I have ever played.

That said, the setting more than makes up for some of the course conditions. Located alongside Lake Shelbyville, the course offers beautiful scenery and several picturesque views throughout the round. With very few golfers on the course, we were able to finish in under four hours, making for a very relaxing day of golf.

Overall, it was an enjoyable and unique experience, and I will definitely be coming back to play it again.

Played on a Saturday morning. Course was in great shape, tee boxes in good shape, greens played semi fast, and wedges into the green would hold. The year before greens were slow and many fairways needed help but this time was great. Staff was friendly, one of the grounds keeper stopped to say hi and give us some balls he found. Course can be challenging — driver off the tee box is often not worth the risk. Only negative was pace of play was slow and several bunkers need sand. Several families or slower 4-somes ahead of our 3-some. Overall great course and value!

Staff have done a good job in keeping this course nice. The only issue is that the forward tees are set up in the fairways. That is okay but many times the contour of the fairways were not level therefore the tees are not. It would be better just to move them back to a tee block and just play the extra distance. However that is not a reason to not play this wonderful course. We enjoyed the course.

The course is in great condition and pace of play was great.

I like it but it’s on lake Shelbyville there should be more water views there’s 1 that’s it.

Eagle creek is a nice course. Tons of deer and turkeys running around. This course is best for seniors and women (people that hit it short and straight), ots tight with tons of trees that make it a nightmare playing from the 2 back tees. Alot of old guys play this course and they pee on the greens, so watch out for that, theyr the ones u see sitn under the shelter talking by the parking lot.

Course is in good shape, but the bunkers need some work. Plenty of doglegs and very rarely will you bring your driver out. Pro shop is a trailer and there is no putting practice green, but the course itself is definitely challenging. If they would make a few improvements this could be one of the best in Central Illinois.
