GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY
LOVED THE GREENS! GREAT SHAPE AND HELD THE BALL. THEY NEED TO WORK ON THE BUNKERS, LIKE HITTING OFF HARDPAN.
Very challenging course
excellent value and a difficult course. in decent shape
Play it, you won't be disappointed
Great price, very friendly staff, no hesitation in teeing off. Good condition, fair course for the average player.
Played on a rainy day, was in good shape.
1 hour rain delay, due to lightening. Would have played quicker if not for that. Lots of tricky shots due to lakes. Nice course, though.
Good for the money, challenging but not too hard.
Very nice golf course. There isn't much room for error. There is quite a bit of water and /or trees on this course. I would bring lots of practice balls.
This course has seen better days.
Pace of play.
Course plays almost 6200 yards from the tips.
It should take no more than 3-3.5 hours to play this course.
Father's day afternoon. Hardly anybody on the course.
Front 9 was an average pacing, took 1.5 hrs.
Back nine took 3 hrs. - Human rain delay ahead us.
No rangers around to speed up play. Though, ranger did tell us to keep our cart on the cart-path at the 8th tee off area.(Rt. 2 wheels were a tad on gravel)
Equipment problems.
Our cart had hardly any brakes.
At the turn a 2-some came off the 18th, complaining that their cart had no brakes.
A ranger's cart ran out of juice on the 16th hole.
We picked up a cart hub cap on the 18th fairway..
Course conditions. With this great spring and summer, this course should be in pristine condition.
There is absolutely no sand in the bunkers. Might as well be hitting off of hard-pan.
The greens are in terrible shape. No consistency.
The 2nd fairway had open drain holes...no grated covers.
There are better values in the area.
Behind 3 Sum too much pushing us and hit the ball before we hit scond shot.
Even though we are not late, but the behind 3 Sum is keep pushing us, so we can not play well. Our play was done in within 4 Hours (around 3: 50 minutes).
Behind 3 Sum too much pushing us and hit the ball before we hit scond shot. Someone is hitting the balls in our fairway during we setup our Tee Shot.
Gate was opened, so we brought our cart to the parking lot, some staff said why you brought the cart to the parking lot. If the cart does not allow in the parking lot, the gate should be keep as closed.
Anyway we don't want to play this course anymore.
Competely feel bad.
Not good value for your money
The course was in very decent condition, but I have to say that it was not worth the $30 I spent. It was a neighbor hood golf course and some of the greens were butted up to other greens with a separation of only 7-10 feet. It made for a very hazardous putting experience wondering if the guys on the other hole were gonna hit up on you.
Course needs some maintenance
It's not the worst I've ever played, not close to the best in Chicago, and it's nowhere near the value I'd expect. Sand bunkers look like they've never been maintained with hard pack dirt. Also, tee boxes need significant work and there's more geese droppings than I've ever seen around the entire course.
Course plays tight because of the close proximity of nearby homes. Course also plays a little short, but it helps make for a quick round and a little funner play.
Otherwise the fairway and rough receive no complaints from me except for a few mud spots (blame it on the excessive rain lately). But overall, for $50+ it's not worth the value to come back and play again until they really put in some maintenance.
Time to show off
I always play well here and my friend always hit into the water!
It was my first time playing the course and I loved it. I plan to take a few friends next time

Nice conditions until you get to the greens
Interesting layout but could use some work. The bunkers need more sand, as is typical in the Chicago area. The greens are bumpy and the slowest I've seen in years. With the exception of the first one, the par 3's are repetitive. However, the 2nd and 10th holes are short/medium par 5's that are among the most challenging you'll find.
Bad condition
besides the aeration the course is still in terrible shape. Greens are long and super super slow.
Poor Upkeep
Could have been a nice course if it was properly taken care of. will not be returning
Worst golf course ever seen in my life.
Pudding green was worse than my back yard.
So much weeds that can not find ball I lost 4 balls.
Even $1.00 per play is not worth I don't know how did I find this
place. Please stay away this course.
Short but interesting layout provides a unique challenge
The Glendale Lakes course, though short, offers a unique challenge, with several short but tight par 4's, long par 4s and 5s for the average golfer, and abundant hazards providing a test for the shot maker. The course staff are friendly and helpful. The overall course condition could be better, but the layout is definitely worth making the trip.
Target Golf
This course is not very long at all. However, the challenge lies in hitting your spots. If you are off, you are either hitting houses, hitting water, or hitting woods. Any one of these situations can quickly turn the hole into a double bogey. Bring extra balls if you are a little erratic with your shots.
Great place to start your season!
Dismal weather has kept many of us off local courses til early May. If you're in my boat Glendale Lakes is a really nice way to return to the links. It's a tad short (5868 yds. from the white tees)
for the long boys, but for hitters like me it provides an early season confidence boost. As usual, the fairways are nicely maintained, the traps, though in need of some more sand, are raked smooth, and the fescue has been mowed to its shortest length in as long as I can remember. Which gives the eye an
interestng look at how the various lakes come into play on so many of the holes. The greens, though visually appealing, were cut at inconsistent lengths, and several were rather bumpy--a condition one might want to assign to the record amount of rain we've had. Having played here many times before I'm sure this is an issue that they'll address quite quickly.
Over all it is a good course to play for the price.
May be it is early in the season. Couse will get better as the season progresses.
