The course name says it all - LAKES
If you have a lot of inconsistency in your shots then you might not enjoy this course too much because the rough is thick and water comes in play on many of the holes, so you're likely to loose a lot of balls. But if you're able to control the urge to just 'blast away' and want to work on accurate shot placement then this is a nice place to play. The course is in nice condition and the layout is challenging but not crazy. Play does run a little slow from time to time with a lot of novice golfers looking for their balls.
improved
course was in really good shape, they have taken steps to get rid of the geese. did not see one geese dropping anywhere on the course- could not beleive it
Very nice but challenging
course was in good shape; layout is interesting; lots of trouble if you miss left or right off the tee; greens were terrific
Challenging in the wind
Played in 25 mph winds and course took it toll. Condition of the course was fair, but I think many courses are having condition issue. Greens were a little slow but true. Have alwas liked that there is a lot of variety in the holes. Not a fan of having rough that is in the center of what would be normally be the fairway. will likely play again
nice
The course was all right compared to the fact that the season hasn't started. However it just didn't feel like the course was not what it could have been even at that moment
Unbeatable Value
Absolute best value of any course in the area. Could the fairways be nicer, sure, the greens faster, of course, should either of those prevent you from playing? Absolutely not. Short but challenging holes makes you think as opposed to grip it rip it golf. Really fun course and unbeatable pricing.
Winter has taken a toll on the fairways..
The greens are in decent shape.. but the fairways leave a lot to be desired...
Good value though as they have significantly discounted the tee time ..
very friendly staff...
Nice...But tight
Enjoyed the course and it was challenging. It was a bit tight with housing on some holes and there is definitely a good reason to have 'LAKES' in the name!
I would recommend, but bring an extra sleeve of balls - especially if the wind is blowing.
course was in good condition.
Pace of play was slow. Played first 9 holes, started @ 10:30am and took 2.5hrs. Too many groups of 2s were playing and some were even first time players and walking on a Prime time ( Saturday morning ). Rangers should have paired up these groups. My group decided to leave after nine disappointing holes of play.
The course was quite beat up.
The tees were good. The fairways were very well worn, assuming a combo of the rough winter and early play with cards. Greens must have been recently aerated, but no one told us.
Glendale
Water, lots of water, at times on both sides of fairways. Bunkers well placed ,but fair to an average golfer. Greens very nice.
Can't beat the price
Nice course to play and couldn't beat the GolfNow deal on a wet and cold Friday.
good course
recent bad weather affected the course a lot. but still a good time.
Good price for 18 holes
Some of the fairways were nice and green while others were brown. Decent amount of water and sand. Bunkers could have been nicer, but every golfer wants to avoid sand if possible. Greens were in ok condition. One of the greens had huge divots in it though. Looked like someone beat the ground with their putter repeatedly. Have to be careful not to hit some houses if you have problems hitting the ball straight which I do. For $15 you couldn't beat the price that included a golf cart. Overall I had a good time.
Great prices, and great if your a local.
There is a lot of water on this course, and it surrounds multiple holes. Do not play agressive on the second & third hole. Otherwise, it will really mess you up for the rest of the front nine. Take it slow on the second hole, and it will be rewarding for the remaning holes. Good luck!
This is a course you can play time and again.
The Glendale Lakes course was in excellent condition when my brothers and I played it. The course was well laid out to take advantage of the water hazards requiring us to "plan" our way around the course. The staff was very helpful without being intrusive. The challenges presented on the course allows appeared possible to overcome although we were rarely able to do that on the first attempt. We met another duffer on the course who enjoyed it so much that he repeatedly returns and I must say that I would tend to agree with that assessment.
Very fun course
Jen and Steve are super friendly and also greet you with a smile on their face. The golf course is challenging but fun at the same time. Tons of water means bring a few golf balls!!
Greens in good condition, course well maintained.
My son and I played from the tips and it proved to be relatively challenging. Most fairways are wide open but a few are tight and you're better off with a long iron or hybrid off the tee. Windy conditions was the biggest challenge. Nice course, great value.
Nice layout. Greens were in good shape
I've played this course quite a few times. First time this season though. The greens were really nice for this late in the season. This is what I refer to as a "target" course. Especially the par-5's. Definitely not a "Bombers" course. Many holes require a precise (less than driver) tee shot. Number 10 is a good example. You have to hit the landing area with your tee shot about 200 yds out. Don't miss short, long or left!
