the course is maintained well.
The agents were kind and the condition of fairway was good.
Bring plenty of balls
I've played here a number of times. This is not a course to play if you spray the ball. Lack of bailout areas make some holes much too difficult for the average golfer. The course played very hard and fast making hazards even more in play. Fairways and even roughs were like concrete. Bunkers were very poorly maintained. Small coating of sand over heavy clay base. Forget all you are taught about sand play...it won't work here.
Greens were marginal....hole locations were in some cases unfair on the edge of big slopes.
Challenging
Decent course, a couple holes don't make sense. Other than that, challenging, tons of houses/townhouses nearby, traffic, businesses. Because of all the nearby distractions, this course is not for me. Not the courses fault, I just prefer a more tranquil atmosphere.
Target Golf
An interesting Dick Nugent design with a good amount of sand and lots of water in play. 2 through 4, 10,12,13,17 &18 all require a plenty of accuracy to keep from blowing your score. Driver is not always the smart play, particularly on those holes. Course conditions are nearly always good but it can be a bit swampy when there's been some rain. No driving range.
very fair
the course is set up so you see most of the trouble from the tee, which makes the course fun to play
Glendale Lakes Golf Club
Great course, lots of water, need to lay up a lot, great par fives, carts are electric, fun course, greens are perfect, fairways are perfect.
Lakes is the keyword here!
The course was in good condition for November, the staff was friendly and up to the challenge of becoming busy on a fair weather November day. The lakes make this course challenging for the slicer.
Nice Golf Course.
I had a great time. The course is in good shape. It has some great holes. The layout is not boring at all. It has some holes that are very easy, but at the same time has holes that make you think what and how to hit your next shot.
The staff is very friendly and great customer service.
It has grown on me
I use this course as warmup course the day before I am to play a demanding course. Yet, this course can not be overlooked. It requires delicate club selection as there are multiple choke and cut off points that come into play alongside water. This course teaches you to play conservative or bear the consequences. They roll the greens which they never did a year ago and it shows. The greens are a longer cut so I dont expect many one putts but two putts should be guaranteed. Overall for a price as low as $12 there is little to complain about.
Well designed, poor condition
This is a short course designed by Dick Nugent to accomodate a subdivision. I really like the design even though it favors a player that hits a draw. Overall the facility is nice but lacks a driving range for warm up. This could be solved by the use of nets at a minimum. The unfortunate part of this course is the poor playing condition. I find it sad that a design this good is spoiled by this. With some work this could again be a really fun place to work on your irons.
Better be a straight hitter
This course will be in the dictionary next to "target golf". It is a short course (~5800 yards from the white). Water comes into play on about 10 of the holes. You must fly the ball to the green as most holes have no run-up area. Greens were moderate in speed....a bit beat up as it was late in the season, but I've seen worse. Sand traps were in pretty poor shape....more dirt than sand.
GPS Would Be a Plus
Played for first time and found course to be difficult to navigate with no GPS. Blind shots, undefined landing areas, etc.
Good course except for
The course is well maintained and a good value except for the goose droppings on several holes. I guess the lake invites the geese to visit and on some holes the fairways are unplayable.
A little challenging for those intinidated buy water
Plays reasonablly quick. Challenging enough without being a killer. Course knowledge is helpful for a better second round. Can get some stubborn slow golfers but most let us play thru, we play on the fast side. I will play more often. The course plays more favorable to a right handed golfer. It is good to play anytime of day since all the holes play in different directions. not favoring dusk or dawn.
A fun course
Course was in very good shape. Lots of water. Be sure to look at the card or GPS before teeing off.
