Brazell's Creek Golf Course
        About
Brazell's Creek Golf Course has a unique layout that is like getting to play two courses in one. Designed by Georgia native Denis Griffiths, the course begins with a parkland-style front nine and then transitions into a links course. The original nine holes, the front nine, are connected to the new nine by a winding 1,500-yard bridge. The player-friendly front nine offers some good opportunities to build up your score before the more challenging back nine, which will test even the most seasoned golfers. The fairways on the front nine are tree lined and narrow but you won't have to deal with the wind, which you'll be confronted with on the longer, tougher back nine. Brazell's Creek Golf Course's signature hole is the par-3 15th. This 207-yard hole plays over wetlands to a large, undulating island green.

30 mph wind was very much a factor
The back nine was ehhhhh. On the other hand holes 16-17 were great. The rest are great if you don’t want to lose a ball. Layout of the back would have to be a 3/5 for me. It was in good shape, but I can imagine even on a not so windy day it’s still hard for your ball not to move too much. The front nine was very nice though and a scenic course as well. Front nine layout 5/5. It was a three club wind on the back hitting 9 irons 175 and drivers less than 200 into the wind. I didn’t see a single soul 3 holes behind us or in front of us, so pace of play is out of this world. The wind was moving my ball on the green, so good luck reading putts. Overall great day on the course.
Course layout good
Greens were still bumpy from airerating greens from previous week which is understandable. Prior to the airerating greens the greens were in really good shape. So expect greens to get better by next week.
Course in Good ship but greens just aerated.
The course was in good shape, fairways were nice and everything growing well. They had aerated their grains two days before I went and played. They didn't mention to me at any times that they had been working on the greens. You couldn't putt well on any of the greens. I play here regularly and using the greens are in very good shape. I imagine within a week they'll be back in the condition they were. For the cost I recommend this course to any and everybody.
Only issue I see with the entire course is there is no pace of play enforcement and lack of etiquette from other players.
Round played on 6-17-25
Course was great and clubhouse staff was exceptional. Highly recommend!
tale of two 9's
Greens rolled really nice; rest of course was in great shape as well---quite possibly the best conditions I've seen at Brazell's Creek. Front 9 twist and turns through tall pines; back 9 is straight links golf--really different and fun to play.
Greens not up to par
I typically play this course weekly. It’s usually well maintained. Sometimes the course manager will overuse cartpath only rules.
About 2 years ago, ta couple of greens on the back began having poa (annual bluegrass). On them. The problem has gotten wore, and the greens on the back 9 are completely useless for putting.
Back 9 unplayable
Course was recently aerated. Been playing this course since 1997. Worse conditions I have ever witnessed. Back 9 had some type of clump of grass or weed on the greens made it impossible to putt. The fairways were as usual good. Want be back until they find a solution to fix the greens.
Disappointed
I’ve played this course 3-4 times. I think the layout is truly awesome, partially that back 9 where you feel like you’ve been transported to Kansas. However I don’t think I would return again. Had a 10:20 tee time, showed up on the tee right on time and there were 3 groups still waiting to go off. No marshall or any organization to keep things moving. A group of 2 could have easily been paired with me as a single, but they didn’t want to play. Did not end up getting off the number 1 tee until 10:45. As a single, I expect to do some waiting, but this round was excessive. On hole 3 I began to see exactly what the problem was, a group of 8 were on hole 5. Only hole 4 was a group of 6. I called the clubhouse to ask if this eas being allowed and they said no and would handle it. From what I could tell not only was nothing done about it, no one even went out to talk to these groups. Front 9 was honestly not terrible pace, 2 hours and 10 mins. The back 9 however madness ensued. Multiple randoms just popped into the back 9 in front of myself and the foursome ahead of me. Between the two groups that sandwiched themselves in between the already slow play it killed the pace of this round. The back 9 took 2 hours and 40 mins. If I didn’t really enjoy the 17th hole I would’ve left around the 14th. Unless some form of management or structure takes place this course will continue to be taken advantage of by inconsiderate groups who want to play high handicap Ryder cup matches (yes, all 8 of these guy sucked). Greens were also punched which may or may not have been mentioned when booking online, but was not mentioned by the staff when checking in. Like the course and it’s usually in decent shape for the cost, but the lack of management puts this course on my no play list for a while. It’s also quite a haul from Savannah for those that think it doesn’t look that far away on the map, trust the google maps eta.
Come out and see
My wife and I played 4 days in a row. Overall course conditions 4.5. Tee to green in great shape. Hats off to the superintendent and staff for a wonderful experience
Tale of 2 nines
Front 9 beautiful tree lined. Greens, fairways, tees and bunkers in fantastic condition. Back 9 wide open links style with fields of wild colorful grass. Tees, fairways, bunkers and greens in great shape. A few greens have mixed grass
