Callier Springs Country Club

My father and I played this course for the first time Sunday 8/23.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly staff with a nonchalant laid back demeanor.

They proceeded to check us in and provide the range balls we purchased at $4 a bag for 20 range balls.

I'm not sure how many carts are on property but to access one you have yo either go through the maintance shop or around the backside of the building because carts apparently are not kept in the covered patio by the parking lot.

The "range" is crab grass that hasn't been mowed in a week or more hitting into a pond that has no yardage.

As someone who has never played the course this should have been an indicator of what was ro come.

Proceeded to #1 where again Tee boxes are crab grass and not mowed nor level on many holes. Box markers in most cases are not painted so you guess at which one you are on.

Moving on you would be better if provided a SxS instead of a cart bc very little of the cart path is paved and the portions that are might as well not be.

Fairways are crab grass and lack mowing, greens are rock hard and splochy with dead turf. #7 green was almost more of a putt putt green than a golf green having been built into the side of a hill and shaped similar to that of a taco with very little option for pin placement.

Many of the fairways share each other so you are always potentially one slice or shank from being hit.

Oh and this is a 9 hole course that you play through to make the 18.

I paid for 18 and played only 9 due to course conditions and not playing all to well on top of it.

This course would be great for beginners or to drink yourself into an I don't care how I play golf day.

Loads of room for improvement and could with lots and lots of time and money potentially be a very nice 9 hole course. Unfortunately that's not the current situation and for the above reasons I won't be returning.

This a 9 hole course. Advertises 18 because they let you play from two different tees. Everything in bad shape; greens, fairways, tee boxes, cart path, parking.

I like a good test. This place isn't the nicest but I think it's definitely one of the hardest.

This was by far the worst golf experience I’ve ever had playing. Layout was horrible, greens (if want to call them greens) small as a 1972 vw beetle, no fairways, etc… Not worth the price. They should make a neighborhood there.

This course has been forgotten. They don’t want to spend 1 ounce of water on anything it hard pan dirt mud weeds rolled down for your greens. Everything’s like concrete.

Our group is all fairly new to golf and we had a blast. Fun course to learn on and I’m sure a great course for more experienced golfers. Staff was super friendly. Would definitely go again!

Great place for the price. Little clustered. Also tee boxes can be a little close for comfort to greens.

Honestly this course as far as layout wasn't the best, but i have to say the greens and fairways on 8/9 holes were immaculate compared to some places ive been that charge well over 100 for tee times with awful greens. The greens are pretty slow so prepare for that. Everyone, including what i assumed to be the regulars were super nice and welcoming. If you are a beginner to average golfer i feel like youd have a good time here. Pace of play was fast to me but im not really one to complain about pace of play i just enjoy being out there. Carts could use a little makeover but for 22 dollars i could honestly care less. Definitely worth the money we had a great time and took the ladies out with us and they were happy so thats a win in my book. All i ask is that yall make some branded ball markers or balls because i collect them lol. Thanks again yall we will definitely be back!

First trip to Callier Springs, I was skeptical. Pulling in feels more like a run of the mill driving range. I walked into the clubhouse and was met by a wonderful lady whose family has owned and operated the GC for decades if not from the beginning which was back in the 1930’s when it opened. She couldn’t have been nicer and answered all my questions. The course itself was a slick layout that makes you think off the tee box instead of just pulling driver and launching it. The real gem of the course are the greens. Most greens have some serious slope that will force you to play to certain areas of the green to give yourself a putt you can be aggressive with. Most second shots force you to land the ball short of the green and run on to get to most of the pins. I love the course and for the price, it’s hard to find better. Wish I knew about this course years ago but I’m thankful I do now. Would highly recommend.
